So far:

Production Shorts - 91 minutes total (and there are probably more)
Production Materials - 77 minutes
Capturing Avatar - 98 minutes
Deleted Scenes - 68 minutes
A message from Pandora - 20 minutes
Miscellaneous - ~15 minutes (so far)

That's already 6 HOURS of video special features

Yes, I just saw that. It can't possibly be 30 minutes of completed new footage can it?

Those batches of footage are obviously for Branching purposes, but I have a hard time believing there will be a 30 minute longer Extended Cut, Id love it for there to be, but Cameron would have been taking it up to hell and back If it were happening. Strange.

It's around 17 minutes extra completed footage, which makes up the extended cut, and another 15 to 20 minutes of very rough footage which is a third cut which is there to show more or less what the film could have been like (this footage however is not completed).

It would be 14 minutes 31 seconds to be precise.

But I don't understand the point of only including 14 minutes of unfinished scenes, when there is an hours worth of deleted scenes on another disc.

I believe it's the extra 14 minutes that was more seriously considered for the final cut. One also has to consider disc space.

Well hopefully it will turn out that they finished those 14 minutes as well.

Would be a nice surprise, but I won't hold my breath at the moment.

that would be beyond a nice surprise, that would make me actually buy this release, instead of just waiting for the eventual 3d release.

If those 14 minutes are the scenes I think they are, then there would be a good chunk of non mo-cap purely human scenes in the mix, meaning its not 14 minutes of pure CG.

But like I said, Im not holding my breath just yet.

I doubt those specs are final. Those aren't the correct times for the additional scenes. The special edition is around 8:50 minutes longer, and the other cut should be just over 16 minutes, not under it.

Wonder what the book in the Limited Edition is.

A lot of stuff. Looks fantastic. For me it a must have.

Despite how plentiful the behind the scenes features look (more than 7 hours worth) Ill definitely be disappointed if there is no Commentary. The Titanic collector's edition had 3 commentaries. So heres hoping the official specs released by Fox will mention one.

Hmm, I was planning on getting that anyway.

Kind of hoping its an exclusive book that you can only get with that set. At the very least itll tempt me to get it.
