You should really enjoy Despicable Me. It was hilarious...plus a good movie.

I just mentioned that in my reply above
If the is for not hearing his trademark catchphrase in full, I can understand it more.
I don't think I laughed quite as much as you did. I still thought it was a pretty good movie obviously, still funny, and I thought the story worked on multiple levels.

You're right. I have no doubt I'll really like Despicable Me. I didn't think it was going to be much judging by the trailer I saw before Avatar, but the new one they had playing before Toy Story 3 made it look a lot better. After it came out to good reviews from both the critics and the public, a blind buy decision was pretty easy.

Yeah, but I still don't think his catchphrase being edited is enough to hate the movie. I understand some people being disappointed, but it was still the best Die Hard since the first one in my opinion with or without it in full. Like I said, it's not even used that much in the movie. I just finish it for him when I hear it in the movie.

Zombieland

tried watching Everlasting Moments and i just couldn't get into it, so i decided to watch some good zombie bashing with the gorgeous Emma Stone instead

the only issue i've ever had with Zombieland is the thought process of the female characters near the end. for two people who are so smart, sassy and quick on their feet, what did you expect would happen when you're
[Show spoiler]trapped on an amusement park ride?
. aside from that minor slip up in terms of character logic, i love everything about Zombieland.

Wooody Harrelson is a hilarious beast. the cameo is absolutely classic and has me rolling on the ground laughing, gasping for air every he
[Show spoiler]get shot
it's so predictable in a sense, but the facial expressions and reactions are what makes it priceless.

looks good, sounds good. always a blast. love it.

4.5/5

All that needs to be said is that this was the movie that convinced me to cross sides back in 2006, just didn't get a player until 2008.

I've changed my rankings of them in the past a few times (and may do so again in the future), but currently:

Toy Story 3 - 5/5

Toy Story - 5/5

Toy Story 2 4.5/5

[HUGE GAP]

A Bug's Life 4.25/5

The Incredibles - 4/5

Cars - 3.75

Up - 3.5/5

Wall-E - 3.5/5

Finding Nemo - ≤ 3/5*

Monsters Inc - ≤ 2.5/5*

Ratatouille - ?/5 (I didn't even sit through the whole thing)

*Can't think of a definite score off the top of my head for these two.

For what the movie does, it does it well. It tells a story, with edge of your seat direction. This is not pure Horror, but more of a psycho thriller. Highly Recommended. Time to branch out and give this one a try. Probably the best movie about a magician and his dummy. A very unique story that will stick with you after watching it.

I remember enjoying this in the theater way back when.

How are the PQ and AQ?

Inglorious Bastards

4 out of 5

The fate of two groups intertwine one fateful evening in an effort to end the war and defeat Germany. The first is a group of Jewish soldiers led by Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Pitt) dedicated to killing as many Nazis as they can find. The second is a young Jewish woman (Laurent) who having escaped from her family's slaughter at the hands of SS Colonel Hans Landa (Waltz) years earlier once again finds herself crossing paths with him. Thankfully, Tarantino has given up on the self indulgent winks to his own genius and instead concentrated on the story itself. The result is that this is his most focused film. While I tend to find the dialog in his movies somewhat overbearing, here they are played to perfection. Two scenes in particular are absolutely brilliant - the sense of tension and danger they convey are palatable. I haven't seen such gripping filmmaking consisting of nothing but dialog since the gas station scene in No Country For Old Men. Brad Pitt may be the star, but he actually has a fairly minor role. The two standout actors in this are the SS Colonel and the escaped Jewish woman. They easily steal the movie. Tarantino offers up a great homage to the pulp War comics of the 40's while transcending the genre with a great storyline and outstanding acting.

I love Ratatouille, I may have to track down the DVD of it that's around here somewhere and take it with me to Minnesota. Second best Pixar film of all-time, behind only Up.

There may be one or two laughs in there (if that), I don't like the characters except maybe Sully a little bit...but because of John Goodman, not because of the actual character, the story wasn't interesting to me. Like I said,

I without a doubt will agree with the general consensus of the beginning of Up being sad, not as incredibly sad as some people say, but definitely sad.
I gave the movie a higher score when I first saw it, but then I saw it two or three more times and it just went down for me.

I don't have a family with family films/animated films. As evidenced by my very high scores for the Toy Story films, and respectable scores for Incredibles and Bug's Life. On the traditional animation side, Lion King earns a strong 5/5 for me. And on more recent animated movies, Despicable Me and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs were both excellent and hilarious family films.

Those ones just don't work for me as much as others. A 3.5/5 for Up isn't BAD, I would definitely watch it again, but it just isn't great to me. Monsters I will not watch again as I've given it several chances, and it hasn't grown on me.

I do need to see A Bug's Life again, because that score is an old one and may change once I see it again.

I'm cleaning up my act!

I really need to get around to seeing Die Hard 2 and 3

I enjoy the first one and the 4th.
Live Free is actually my favored one of the two.

It took some knocks for being PG-13, but I don't understand the logic in "I don't hear enough cursing or see enough fake blood...THIS MOVIE SUCKS!"

If you dislike the movie, fine, no worries, not everyone is going to agree. But if you hate it/didn't even see it just because it wasn't rated R....
Man i wish you could of enjoyed it. But i respect your opinions on the movies. I just think Pixar is very moving and they are the Best animated movies out there!

Especially considering it is(or at least used to be) $10 at Best Buy and really is such a well-done movie, surprised it's not more well-known.

A really good psychological thriller.
Just a question.
