No reasonable person would have predicted such large numbers for a video game movie. No previous movie based on a video game had anywhere close to that type of blockbuster intake.

The closest comparable would probably be the Lara Croft films which took in $131.2M($274.7M) and $65.7M($156.5M) respectively.
