Yeah, I don't think anyone credible was legitimately predicting it would hit a billion dollars worldwide.

This is the highest grossing video game movie of all time, which in itself means it did fine. The budget will always be the main thing that prevents this from being the success it should have been. Some will say the movie just wasn't good enough, but it did fine when not factoring in the ridiculous budget.
