Well we'll assuredly be getting spots from the competition (Thor and Transformers 3), so they might want to counter that with an ad of their own.

It would be seen by quite a bit of people regardless though, loads of people watch the Super Bowl...some even just for the commercials.

Yes. If for no other reason, it will be due to the mixed reactions to this trailer. Plus, this was just a teaser. I think we will get more encompassing trailer in later months. I don't know if the Superbowl will be THE time it will air, but somewhere around then is a safe bet.

I'm assuming their going to want to attach the final theatrical trailer to a WB film, so that would mean being with Unknown (mystery/thriller) in February, Red Riding Hood (Drama/Thriller) or Sucker Punch (action) in March.

For those complaining about Ryan Reynolds and his wise-cracking...

Has anyone noticed that there isn't a single scene in the trailer where he is cracking a joke during serious tension? I believe that he is smart enough to realize that there will be appropriate times in which to bring his comedic timing to the table. Otherwise, the man can still handle dramatic tension very well. I'm pretty sure that he had a grasp of the situation when taking the role. I have more faith in him understanding the balance of the role sheerly because it could become a subdued version of Jim Carrey's Riddler... and, although Jim Carrey was awesome in that film, everyone knows that type of character won't work in any Green Lantern universe.

Alright, saw Potter again. The GL trailer was recieved very well this time. Hell, my dad wants to see it.

So I'm at a loss for predicting this films outcome now.

Out of that list, I'm guessing they will attach it to either Red Riding Hood or Sucker Punch. Sucker Punch is probably the better audience for it, but they may want to get as much exposure as possible for it. It's possible it will be attached to both of those. February is probably a month too soon, so I am counting out Unknown.

Late to the party...

I thought the trailer looked good enough, I'll see it. Hate the suit/mask though, looks super fake.

Trailer look's good. Will need a bit of time to get use to the suite, look a bit strange to me but it's a minor thing.

From the trailer he did a good job at looking broken up when the ring was passed onto him so let's hope so. The intro of IM2 where Pepper Potts kissed the IM Mask and Tony Stark jumped out of the plane didn't make it into the movie and I'm hoping that power up scene at the end of the trailer doesn't make it in as well either (though the power up of the actual suit was cool).

I loved the trailer but I dont love how the Lantern looks when his friend is holding it in the car while they are driving. Nothing like the comic book Lantern

I'm hoping for the same thing. Or maybe a similar thing to Fantastic Four:RotSS in which they use a different take of a sort.

I am not worried about Ryan Reynolds making wise-cracks during serious scenes. I think he is a good actor. I am worried that a large portion of the film will be wise-cracks. Mind you, I'm not very worried about it, but it is on my list.

I loved the trailer. I still think it's an interesting approach they're taking with his suit in the movie. I thought it looked Ok in the trailer. As long as the CG is properly done I think it has great potential. I'm not at all worried about Ryan Reynolds. I think he was very well cast for this part.

Hahahaha... I knew that was coming. Jim Carrey's Riddler was awesome within the context of the film. Certainly wouldn't register as a great portrayal in Tim Burton's Batman universe. But, within the production design of Batman Forever, his performance is extremely enjoyable. I actually find the entire production quite enjoyable as well. It's just a matter of understanding that they were trying to change the material to a more comic book feel. And that was fine with me until Batman & Robin came out.

So, people on these forums are reacting to the comic abilities of Ryan Reynolds as though he will be turning Hal Jordan into Jim Carrey's Edward Nigma. I guarantee that they are all crying wolf while claiming that the sky is falling.

That's my top concern. I've not followed the comics but my opinion of GL is based on the Justice League series (albeit John Stewart) and the DC move in which both seem to take on a more serious tone. Wise cracks is who Spider-man is and I like the attitude of Ironman but I'm just not really wanting to see GL being some goof ball.

My problem is the fear that a lot of this stuff was put in just because he was the star. If he's funny in the context of the movie I can deal with it. It's not my idea of Hal Jordan but I can deal. When they start adding stuff just so he can be funny like the thing with the friend and the voice over then it's gonna drive me crazy. It's just hard for me to buy into the serious moments if he's cracking jokes left and right.

I saw the trailer on the big screen tonight and it looked much better than it did online.

Considering
[Show spoiler]Parallax
is in this film, his presence alone suggests that this movie will indeed have some seriousness to it and won't be all humor like some of you are fearing.

Also, an image of him that is very close to what his final appearance in the film will be went online today...but WB asked to have it removed. Comments on the image on the site I saw it on were very positive...but I didn't see it myself

Edit: It's still up at the original site
http://www.dailyblam.com/news/2010/1...-from-the-film

Check it out before its pulled!

I think it looks great.
