Wasn't the "pilot", the sales pilot was still "Where Is Everybody?"--

Element was the isolated proto-Serling story for Desi Arnaz's show, right?...They didn't even put that on the boxset?

Correct on all counts, EricJ.
I was a little disappointed that "The Time Element" wasn't on the DVD set. I've only seen it once--when the cable channel TV Land launched, back in '96.
I remember liking it, but I've always enjoyed William Bendix's work.

VERY curious about this.. Being only 19 years old I've only seen 1 or 2 episodes, but I really liked them!

I will have to check out some episodes online and see if I'll like em all!

I am also 19 and my summer for many years consisted of staying up late to watch Twilight Zone when it was on. I only own the first season on dvd and I am waiting to buy any others because of the Blu-ray release. So you should know that the show is excellent. To be honest I only like the Rod Sterling episodes in B&W. I dont like the 80s series.

Maybe real passionate fans will pay the price for individual seasons as they did for the dvd's, but I'm not one of them. As a purchaser of the original DVD Definitive collection, I wouldn't pay more for Blu-ray than for the DVD's. It's the Definitive collection at a reasonable price or nothing for me.

I wonder what will be the price? I remember when my friend started buying them on DVD about 6-7 years ago, the prices were not too friendly like

If I can get it a good price I might go for it, it's a iconic TV series.

CANT ####### WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing this is being released alrweady, would have thought few more yrs away at least.

There is a hand full of eps I want so bad. The dvds looks pretty good so I assume the HD will be sexy. No way it would be the 80's. I found the 2002 series better then the 80's.

I have watched some of the 60's eps dozens times. CANT WAIT MOFO!!!!!!

In case you missed it on the front page... https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=4797 --this comes out on September 14! Check out those extras! I never knew that Tales of Tomorrow did a version of "What You Need". It is quite interesting that this is being included in the TZ set. I can't wait!

Sy-Fy (or whatever that network is calling themselves these days) routinely runs marathons of this show........ It was a show WAY ahead of it's time...... I liken it to the type of fare you'd get from HBO..... it had far greater production value and cinematography than other shows on the air at the time..... (look at Rawhide, The Untouchables, and Dennis the Menace...... although they were good shows.... the production values paled in comparison)

This set is going to be great. The problem now is going to be figuring out what to do with the 2004 Definitive DVD Collection?

However..... I really hope there will be some sort of discount program for those of us that own all five seasons on DVD. I would absolutely LOVE to upgrade my DVD set to Blu, but I can't imagine being able to do it practically if I'm forced to sell my DVD set (Amazon, eBay, local DVD shop, etc.) and pay the expected $150-200 for all five seasons on Blu.

Anyone heard any word on such a discount program? I'm afraid that nothing like this will happen since we're talking about Image Entertainment who is reportedly hurting for money.....
I would dump the DVDs now instead of waiting - the longer you wait, the more people will be doing the same.

The release of this was tempting until I saw the outrageous prpice attached to the boxed set. SRP is $100? This is exactly why I haven't purchased a single television series that has been released to Blu-ray. The only set that I own is the Firefly set and only because I purchased it for $40 from Amazon.

This is why consumers aren't buying ... and the only consumers who are buying them are those who have an excellent paycheck. Even discounted, retailers like Best Buy will have it on sale for about $80.

Studios need to start pricing their BR releases a little south of the border instead of these ridiculous prices. Even the Prisoner, which I've been wanting to purchase, fecthes $80 at discounted retailers.
