Denon Audio Problem

I have a Denon AVR 3200 and I have replaced the Denon DVD 2000 player with the Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray player. I used the optical connect for audio connection to the AVR. I have great audio when I play a DVD on the new Sony player. But when I play a music CD I do not have any audio. I have gone over all the settings, talked with Sony and emailed Denon and have not been able to resolve the lack of audio with music CD's on the Blu-ray to the AVR. Previously, with the Denon DVD connected to the Denon AVR and using the same optical connectio, I had perfect audio with DVD's and music CD's.

Can anyone clarify my lack of audio with music CD's with the Blu-ray Denon optical connection.
