My company has moved to a new office location, so I'm looking to decorate mine with some new 11x17 posters. Does anyone here have a favorite seller they use on ebay? Also, are most 11x17 posters printed on the same card stock? I've never bought one in this size, so I'm not sure what to look for regarding the specs.

It's a great looking poster no doubt, and I'm sure you're talented, but if you want compensation or even credit, create original art, copyright it, get it distributed. Otherwise, you don't really have much of an argument or reason to be pissed. I could just be misinterpreting the whole situation, so feel free to elaborate on anything I've interpreted wrong. Wow! That's quite a collection. Very impressive!
My collection is much more modest. You may have inspired me to finally post some pics, though. **EDIT** As promised, pics can be found in my gallery and beyond the spoiler tag: [Show spoiler]

I dont mind if they use my work, but dont erase my name off of it and basically tell me that I didnt make it when I have the Photoshop files to prove it....thats all im saying!!! thats the only argument that I have, dont take my name off of something, and when I posted them I give the credit to the studios! also I put them on the posters themselves. |

Something you also need to be aware of is if you create a fan-made poster image, the moment you post it on the internet, it will spread like wildfire, and while your intentions are undoubtedly good, its others that you have to worry about. There are people who will try and take credit for it, and post elsewhere who then call it "official" movie poster, etc. Then word spreads amongst the movie poster collecting base that they saw a Dark Knight poster that they wanted (such as the image in question) and then because it gets reported as a poster, people assume it is. What happens next are dishonest poster dealers (and other individuals) who then take the image and sell them (I think everyone where knows just exactly what "dealers" I am talking about) to unsuspecting collectors giving it a false name like "Style F" or "Style K", etc. At that point, collectors, mostly those who don't know any better, think they have a real movie poster, and then they go to the expense of having it framed, etc. Look at it as a chain of events, in your case, if you did design it, you more than likely did so as a fan to show off your abilities, again, no harm with that, but then as you can see it spirals out of control and people then profit off your fan-made poster, and collectors end up assuming they have a real poster, but in reality they have a counterfeit poster of a fan-made image. Unfortunately it isn't restricted to just fan-made images, there are official movie poster images that are copied and sold as fakes as well. In the future, when you create a fan-made image, the best advice I can give you is put something quite noticeable on the poster that it is a fan-made image, not something that can be covered up or Photoshopped out as others will do that just to try and make a buck off those who don't know any better. The forum member here who has that poster framed in his living room may not know it isn't a real poster, but a fan-made knock-off, if they were not aware of it, they do so now. |

You have to be careful when it comes to printing your own copy up, some places due to copyright laws wont print or scan movie posters for fear of getting in trouble. Do so at your own risk of course.
