Ozzie has freedom of speech. But with freedom of speech comes responsibility. He's probably lucky it's only 5 games given how he disrespected a major part of the south Florida community and a significant part of the Marlins fan base. He's got to be more careful.

It's very difficult for the community to forgive someone who is pro-Castro. Ouch. Fans are going to avoid going to the game, players going to avoid playing for someone who is pro-Castro....

Anyone know why Guillen did his press conference in Spanish with a translator? The guy speaks English. It was a somewhat bizarre and rambling presser. The south Florida Latino community has already come out and said they will continue protesting as five games isn't enough. And it doesnt help Guillen since he supposedly made aimilar Pro-Castro comments a few years ago with Chicago.

He speaks English, just not well. That is what leads to part of his troubles. He felt it would come off better and more precise speaking in spanish.

Even 10 games would be very lenient. He said he loves Fidel Castro for goodness sake! Castro is a HORRIBLE human being who committed countless violations of human rights in Cuba. I'm surprised the Cuban-Americans in Miami aren't rioting in the streets.

Regardless of the length of the suspension, this is something that will infuriate the Cuban population in the United States forever (as well it should-Castro's a piece of shit). The only viable solution to getting that fanbase back is to fire Guillen's ass.

He's just the latest in a long line of disgusting people who ruled Cuba. Living in Florida I've met plenty of ex-Cubans who suffered horribly under the rule of Fulgencio Batista, whom our country supported and who Castro overthrew. People today like to glamorize Batista's rule as some paradise. In reality the vast majority of Cubans were actually far worse off under Batista than Castro. Castro is nothing more than the successor to the Batista/mafia dictatorship of the 40's-50's.

In short Cuba has always sucked. Though I don't blame the Marlins for suspending Guillen for his words. You have to show better judgment than he did with regards to the fan base. It would have been funny if Guillen just said "F it" and went to the press conference smoking a Cuban cigar.

I live in Canada and my buddy was just at a resort last week and brought one back for me. Had it after dinner on Sunday and, I agree, amazing.

I attended the Blue Jays game tonight. I arrived early, and bought myself a replica alternate jersey (but no name or number on the back). It looks really good! All in all, a very good performance, except: Bautista going 0 for 4, including three strikeouts; and the bullpen taking too long to end the game in the 9th. Now on to the World Series.

Don't forget Clay Buchholz shut us out in his first major league start and he's not become anywhere near the expected pitcher we all thought he would be.
