Got the Django Unchained (overseas version) poster from my job a few days ago. It's totally different from the US version (even though I like the US version better). It's measures 27X40. I also got my hands on two (actually three) posters of the IMAX midnight showing of The Hobbit as well (I'm willing to trade those two away). I also picked up the IMAX midnight showing poster of SkyFall (I'm keeping that one too).

Faded? Like how? No picture? or just light? The ink smell is a give away that it might a reprint or fresh print. I'll look at mine though.

I'm kinda interested in one of the Jurassic Park prints. The prices are staying lower right now...hummm.... (on ebay) Any on here looking to sale? I'm just shopping around. I really do want a print but not sure how bad. I have a lot of posters. lol.

So is there any interest in the Fox 75th Anniversary Posters, I have the Darth Vader and Alien one's still in the tube in my closet. I looked on Ebay but didn't see any listed. Thanks

I've never bought posters from Movieposters So how good are these?

thinking of getting Demi Striptease poster and the other main poster for Striptease or would the $10 more be better??

I've never bought US posters before only Evangelion Japanese posters and Chirashis and 2 souvenir programs with Alien and Cardcaptor Sakura Movie and Movie 2 Chirashis. Anything I should know about US posters?

and does anyone know of any Jennifer Connelly Posters? All I've got is the Labyrinth Japanese movie souvenir program.

@Kraken Faded on the back the way originals usually are. The front being full contrast, color, etc. The back side having less, as if printed at a lower quality. That's how all modern originals I own are. This Trek one I got is the same print level on both sides. I have read that reprints are usually the same full printing on both sides. I just want to be sure this isn't an exception before leaving a review. I don't want to say its a reprint if not.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

if you looke at the description it will tell you. The link to the striptease one was described as creased this may explain why there is a more expensive one described as not creased

yes, but it doesn't have a picture of that exact one with the creases and tears like I've seen on eBay. I was wondering how bad they would be.

Anyway decided for now to just get the international version since that seems a lot better anyway. I love this version more than the other one.

I wish I had more walls though

I finally managed to get all of the Craig Drake Kill Bill Posters. I'm going to have to start saving for the Tyler Stout Reservoir Dogs, Blade Runner, Kill Bill and least I forget his Iron Man posters.

Hey guys sorry if this has been asked before, it's just that it's exhausting going through all the pages in this thread. A buddy of mine on another forum said I should ask this here, so...

I just moved into a new place and I'm putting my posters on the wall, and I'm finding it tough to choose which posters I wanna feature. There's just way too many to choose from and space is kinda limited. Then I remembered all the little digital picture frames I see at families houses and such, so I figured I could just get a larger one (I know they exist, as I see them in subways and stuff) up and load a bunch of posters I wanna feature.

My question is, is there an affordable solution, and do they make them in regular poster size for commercial use?

What Chuck is saying is true, but I have to add not ALL double-sided movie posters have the faded backside to them. Different studios started doing this at different times. I think Paramount Pictures was one of the first to start doing this, at least five years ago. Warner Brothers on the other hand started around early 2008.

I would assume the new Star Trek one would have the same faded backside as well. Chuck, where did you buy your poster? You mentioned on Amazon but who was the seller?

Don't wait too long, Stout's prints go up in value a lot faster than most of the other Mondo artist's prints. Kill Bill is around the $500 price point for a standard now, higher for a variant. Iron Man 2 is on the rise as well, and will continue once Iron Man 3 hits. Blade Runner is a hard one to find and only will get harder, as the market dries up and many collectors don't want to part with them, it seems only every once in a while we will see one of the older Stout prints appear for sale on eBay, etc.

im not to sure about a poster sized digital frame, but i have seen a few people that mount a tv vertically and add a library of pictures run via a cheap pc or connect the usb into the tv and run a slideshow. I know that smallish tv's are pretty cheap maybe 32" or a bit higher, but that still might be a bit expensive for some people, maybe you could look at used TV's aswell. Im sure others on here would be happy to help and may know a little more than me.

Sounds like what you could try and do is buy some lightbox frames, that open up, so you can put a different poster in there, basically changing them out at your leisure. I am sure you can buy them online, they can be quite expensive, or others have made them themselves.

It's a seller I believe I've heard you mention, movie poster arena. I only tried it because of the description and due to using a gift card. The product description states:
This is a BRAND NEW/UNUSED Near Mint condition Double Sided ORIGINAL US 1 sheet poster for the movie STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. The poster measures 27 x 40 and its a guaranteed Original poster. The item will be rolled in a poly tubing and shipped inside a .125 thick sturdy tube with bubble wrap protection and end caps
The product details state:
This is an Original Poster issued by the studio
It measures 27x40 inches
It is double sided
This poster is a great collectors item

I can see how they get around saying it's an original. It can be an original reprint. I don't see how they can get away with saying its issued by the studio.

You never said a truer word. I never saw the Blade Runner for sale so I think that will be the hardest one to get. I'll take your advice and start looking for the Iron-Man prints. I know the mondo Avengers set will only increase in when Avengers 2 drops.

Are there any poster conventions are they mainly sold and traded at comic conventions. These posters are almost as addictive as Blu-rays.........

Sorry it took me so long- busy- okay I took a look at the poster.
This gets interesting:
I notice no fade really MAYBE one shade down (maybe on the double side)
The front side HAS TEXTURE to it. The destruction is shiny/glossy in areas in the light you can even run your hand across and feel it. On the double side it's more like a regular poster, no texture. The picture is almost the same- very little fade.
have pics but they are on my phone they almost look alike.

There is always a chance that a poster such as this which required special printing needs since I believe it has a glossy and matte finish (have not seen it up close) to it that it required the poster to have the same color consistency on the backside. Also have you compared the wording on the poster to one perhaps up at your local theater? If you have not done that, perhaps you should just in case, as it could be an international version advance and not a domestic one. If I get my hands on any I will chime in some more on them but don't assume it is a reproduction you have just yet.

Generally a poster that has "texture" is only on the front, not on the back side. And sometimes the lighter back side but not be as easy to spot until you really compare the front and the back. It sounds like what you have is real, the glossy finish is generally done on the front, not on the back as well. For example the Iron Man teaser Paramount did back in 2008 and the Casino Royale advance that MGM did as well as other glossy originals had the gloss only on the front side, not the back. My guess is you have an original and not a reprint.

You need to start hanging out on expressobeans.com as posters are sold there for a better price than on eBay for the most part. They keep track of what posters sell for and a target lots of people shoot for when selling is the 6 month average. I've done some deals with people from there before and a lot of the people who post in this forum also post over there.
