Isn't that kind of the same for "The Incredible Melting Man", though?

The gorgeous art for both upcoming box sets, side by side!

Cliff, I assume it's probably too late, but would it be possible to only have the VINCENT PRICE COLLECTION text on the slip, and not on the actual disc art? Repeating it is rather redundant, and a text-free inner cover would be all the better to display Joel Robinson's wonderful art.

From what I can tell, at least that one has fans for a reason as judging by the behind the scenes stuff, something got lost in translation.

Its fantastic art, thats for sure.

I hope these aren't horribly expensive. I'll buy it anyway, but Day One or not depends on the price. I can not wait though!

The fact that The Howling II has fans, means there is a reason.
They would not like it if there were no mitigating factors.

Look at Manos: the Hands of Fate, thats coming out on BD later this Summer and it has enough fans to collectively donate 45K to the restoration. And thats just the fans that had an account on Kickstarter and heard of the project. Imagine the thousands that did not know about the project. It is stunning.

Every movie has fans.

Cliff dislikes Deadly Blessing, but Jeff likes it.

This just goes to show you that even fans can be split, no one opinions is correct.

Just because some people say Gone With The Wind is the greatest film ever, does not make it so. No movie "sucks"...

Well, it does have 3,385 votes on IMDB, but that's not a reflection of the film's popularity, only that 3,385 people have given it an average rating of 3.0. Not that IMDB is the final word on artistic merit (I do remember the whole Dark Knight fiasco), but 3.0 is...3.0.

Fantastic artwork by Joel. He really knocked it out of the park, the guy captures Price like few can. Happy to see he is in Scream's company now and hope to see more work from him on future covers.

Wes Craven is an easy sell. And the only reason people are buying Manos on Blu-Ray is because of MST3k. That's it. And you may understand why Howling II has its fans but I sure as hell understand why it's detested.

And let me say... we can't release everything. We are at our maximum output now.

We won't ever be able to make all the fans happy. We have picked the titles we think will sell. You can all debate the merits of our picks, but it's not going to change the titles we have licensed. We have what we have and we'll be releasing those titles we've licensed.

If we do another deal with the studios, we'll take all the suggestions under consideration.

You may like HOWLING II more than INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN... that is your opinion and an opinion you are abosolutely allowed to voice. If you had your own label, you might have licensed HOWLING II instead. I chose IMM.

This blu-ray itsef has no association with MST3K, so clearly that is not so.

No one in here claimed it was "The most fantastic film of all time, ever made, forever, and ever, and ever!!...". But it is popular and there is a market for it.
As much so as many other cult films.

Because, at the end of the day thats what it it. The Howling 2 is a cult film, that means it has a very specific following. And quite clearly there is a following....

Im more than satisfied with Shout's output now, as far as I am concerned it can only get better.
Kudos Cliff.

Their opinions probably changed anyway. And well, well said Cliff. And redrunner, if Howling II has an audience, the DVD would have sold better. I'm one of the unfortunate suckers who bought it on DVD because of Christopher Lee but I'm glad I'm free of that sucker.

Cliff, I think you should know, I don't think people are outright criticizing your picks, so much as myself and others are voicing our support for titles we like or are interested in in the hopes of them being picked up by you guys in the future. So yes, what we want is the suggestions to be taken under consideration in the future if and when you do another deal with the studios.

Thanks, Cliff.

Personally, IMM is a great choice and a stupidly fun movie. It's on pre-order.

Just hoping that, as the SF line continues, HOWLING II may be reconsidered.

That's all I was hoping for. Obviously you are going to pick your favourites and big sellers first, but hopefully down the run you give this one a shot, or at the least look into it and the newfound fandom it now has. If it didn't sell well previously, maybe you can get it on the cheap.

As has been previously stated, the audience for this film has grown quite a bit over the years. I bet sales of Troll 2 weren't hot when it was first released either. Again there is a reason why all of these films have been hitting Blu lately (Miami Connection, Manos, Troll 2, Burial Ground, The Room, ect.), people love to get together and have a good laugh and these films are a great way to do it. These films are hot right now, you can't judge an audience for a film presently by how well it sold 8 years ago!

And Movie-Brat, we get it you don't like the film, if it ever gets released just don't buy it, and let all of us who do enjoy it pick it up. What's the big deal? It's not like The Video Dead, Incredible Melting Man, ect. are all horror masterpieces. Personally I will buy anything Scream releases but you don't have to. Lots of people don't like some of the choices Scream have made and lots love the choices Scream have made. You can't please everyone.

I feel the same way, though I'll admit I'm still unsure about "Dead Souls" and "Cockneys vs. Zombies". Something about those two still keeps me from being super excited for them...

Many of my favorites don't pass the test either. I have to pick titles that will make back the money we put into them.

So even some of my favorites will never come out.
