Using HDMI or optical?

When you press select on your PS3 controller, what does it tell you the PS3 is processing? DTS-HD MA 5.1/7.1? What's the PS3 say exactly?

What does the display on your 605 say you are listening to?

Bottom line: If the PS3 isn't processing DTS-HD MA 5.1 or 7.1, or your 605 isn't receiving 5.1 or 7.1 PCM (I believe the Onkyo should say Multi. Channel PCM on it) then you aren't getting true DTS-HD MA.

Rereading, apparently hitting select on your PS3 controller says you are getting DTS-MA processed. What's the receiver say you are getting? And please clarify you are using an HDMI cable for sound, and not an optical... The reason I'm asking again is because the ONLY time I've seen my PS3 automatically choose 2.0 PCM as an option for me was when I was using optical as my connection in system settings.
