The thought of Barney at 1080P on a 102" screen is just.... scary. Just not right!

It would be amazing to hear him sing I Love You song in DTS-MA, imaging the clarity in the voice thus more.

Barney would be a great showoff disc for your sound stage. The mid-range of his voice, the highs of the laughing, singing children, and the deep bass of the shotgun as Barney sings his last note.

Nezff, your finished cabinet looks sweet! I've been looking around everywhere for a good wall unit like that, but I haven't found anything decent. I'd like to build one, and yours looks fantastic.

Is there any chance you would share the plans for the cabinet you built? You and I have the identical TV, and it would be a perfect fit. I would greatly appreciate it.

P.S. I still have the stickers on mine too!

Do you have the 50 inch version of the sony? I have the 60 inch version so I made my Tv stand about 4 inches bigger than my tv. 2 inches on each side. You can make the height of the tv stand as high as you want it. I made it just high enough so I will be looking right in the middle of the tv when Im laying on the couch. The only thing is, you will have to find someone close to you to make the doors for you. I just made the cabinet then measured the openings for the doors. I have a guy here that makes them for me. for 10 doors, it cost me $245. 5 sheets of 3/4 MDF ran me about $100 from home depot. Ill try and get you the exact measurements tomorrow. I am at work right now.

vikknyc, Great Set-up. I really like it. Everything seems to match nicely. The stand really compliments the hardwood floor.

Rogman, that's basically my dream set-up. Well done. Great movie watching environment. It just needs a few movie posters.

looks bad ass. if I upgrade my speakers from the in ceiling to floor standing ones with a center speaker I'd like to build some thing similar. A+ looks killer.

nezff, I would greatly appreciate your help with this. I do have the 50 inch version (I misread and thought yours was too), but I'll probably build the cabinet to accomodate a 60" for future flexibility.

When you have a moment would you please send me a PM with the specifications or post them here? I'll owe you huge for this. I greatly appreciate it! You rock!

Rogman, your home theater room is looking great! I love that sectional! Would you please post the names of the manufacturer and store? I've been looking closely at a similar one, but yours might work better in my home theater room.

Given the rectangular shape of your room, do you have any issues with echoeing or bass issues at all? Just curious. Your couch may absorb enough energy to make it a non-issue. Given the screen setup though, you could really make it look authentic by hanging plush red curtains and a valance around your screen. That could be a decorative and easy way to reduce repeating sound energy in the room without having dedicated traps or other things.

Oh, one last thing. Which way to the candy counter?

As far as the Insignia speakers not matching the fronts...not a big deal.
Surround speakers are secondary. I have found that timbre matching the surrounds with the fronts are not as essential as matching all the fronts and center. Of course, some people would passionately disagree. But these Insignia speakers do their job just fine for surrounds--especially when the cost $20 each--yea you heard me, $20 each back in the day.
I'm sorry, but even if your $20 surround speakers were timber matched to your front, which they're not, you've got no room to question anyone's setup on these forums - even Bose users.

Even as you admitted yourself, most users on this forum do not have their dream setup, but they're working to eventually get there.

Ok. TV stand is 56"wide x 18"tall x 20"deep
Left and righ piers are the same dimension as follows: 74"tall x 18" wide x 20"deep.

each opening in the tv stand is 17 inches wide except for the middle one. it is 20 inches wide with two doors.

I opted for two doors on the piers at the top instead of one big door. you can put shelves in it if you like.

Very nice set ups everyone!!

Heres my set up of my 52" XBR4. I need to hide the wires a bit more, but the stand I have makes it very difficult to hide them

Sorry for the pic but it's extremely hard to take pictures down there. The flash makes everything look 10 shades brighter and is not flattering.

One more showing (kind of) the viewing area. Obviously lights out during show time.

These are a month overdue. Here are some pics of my set up. There's more to be done but I'm really happy with it.

This is probably the closest I'm going to get to playing the MGO Beta.

We bought the sectional at Art Van, a regional midwest store. Not sure of the brand. Here's the link: http://www.artvan.com/webapp/wcs/sto...30006_30000_-1. You can special order in several colors, and in all leather, etc. We went with the color and microfiber one they had in stock.

No problems at all with echo or bass frequencies. I was a little concerned when the empty room failed the 'clap test', but with the furniture, thick carpet and area rug, things are fine. The back of the room, where the table is, is about 3' deeper than the rest. That may help too.

The 'candy counter' will be in the back by the walk-up bar. Can't get the Mrs. to commit on cabinetry, so it's still just a long, skinny folding table now...
