So I went to see this. Let me first say that on the way out one guy in the crowd said to another guy in the crowd, "That wasn't that bad." No I wouldn't go that far, there were parts that were definitely better than the first (especially the climax). I missed the intimacy of the first.

It's funny that the guys in the suits are now the Star Trek ensigns that beam down to the planet with Kirk, McKoy and Spock. I missed the Agent that starred in the first movie. Overall I think it was better than the first and would like to visit this world again. I think it falls beneath both Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk in the comic book movies released thus far this summer. I'd put it above Hancock.

The Dark Knight will most likely set the bar even higher.

Very good movie. 8.5 of 10. alot better than the first one even though the first one was good also. probably one of the best artistic movies i've ever seen. this should get an oscar for art direction. maybe even noms for makeup and costume design. guillermo has an imagination beyond any filmmaker i have seen, including lucas and spielberg. the movie needed more of Liz using her powers. she should of cut loose more at the end.

This is a joke right? I guess some people want to see this movie, but I'd be shocked if it's a smash hit. I haven't talked to anyone that's interested in seeing it. I'm sure it will do passable numbers, but nothing outstanding. It's in a tough spot in between Hancock and TDK.

If these numbers are heading where they should, the Dark Knight should have very little competition next week. Now, its chances of making $100M+ are even better.

Btw, Hellboy 2 will make more than $40M this weekend.

Rumor has it that Murphy demanded a big premier and then didn't show up to it.

Totally agree with you....why open it in the summer when it won't stand a chance to make any money should have open it around the holiday season when there isn't much playing.

I would agree with this. The holidays would be a great time for Meet Dave. Going against Get Smat, Hell Boy II, Hancock, Wall-E, Kung Fu Panda...the movie has no chance.

I was put off by those scenes as well; young Hellboy didn't look at all realistic.

The ending was a bit predictable as well. I mean, they weren't exactly subtle about telegraphing what was going to be the solution to the problem (Wanted also suffered from this as well). Wished they would have mixed it up a bit and made Abe or at least Hellboy do it.

Then there was Liz's final act to save the day which made me wonder why they just didn't have her do that a lot earlier in the movie.

I don't know what it will make, but I tell you what....that movie is great.

I usually don't walk out of a theater surprised at how good something is, it's usually the opposite.

Great action, great characters. Lots of fun. This will be a big blu-ray hit. Freddy

Yeah, there were parts of the movie where I was thinking about how it would look on Blu-ray.

Overall I was very satisfied. I'd put it on par with the first one. As someone mentioned before, there is a lack of intimacy with this one. I think there were better laghs though, for instance SPOILER! When Hellboy is blown out the window and falls in slo-motion
