Default Wanted: opening box office guesses!

How much will Wanted bring in to the box office this weekend? It's got steep competition in Wall-E. This one is R rated with plenty of bullets and blood. It's got a respectable 72% fresh at Rotten Tomatoes as of this posting.

How do you think it will do?

The Wall-E BO thread can be found here.

Early tracking has Wall-E at $52-$57 million and Wanted at $36-$41 million for the highest R rated opening in June EVER!

They are also predicting Get Smart to bring in another $20 million.

in the $20 mill range. The R rating will hurt the box office a bit as Wall-E will draw the families in. Trying to figure out a way to see both this weekend. We are seeing a late showing of Wall-E to tomorrow hoping there will not be a lot of kids @ the 9:40 showing.

Wanted looks great (as long as people don't try and take it seriously, LIKE SHOOT 'EM UP! ) Got 4 stars from Empire too. Awesome.

Is that good for Rotten tomatoes? I've never really looked at the site.

Here's the Empire review http://www.empireonline.com/reviews/...asp?FID=133072

I have always agreed with Empire and now am really looking forward to Wanted. (Night watch & Day watch were awesome too, after a few times!)

PS Everybody take a look at this as well, REALLY looking forward to Roackadnrolla

Well, I don't really go to Rotten Tomatoes for reviews either but I would think 75% is good.

Oh, it just went down to 74% lol.

4/5 stars is not bad though.

You think 74% is good, what is 97%(Wall-E)? Wanted averages a 6.7 whereas Wall-E averages 8.6.

It's all relative.

THANK YOU! I agree...Shoot em up was mindless stupid action...and it was fun.

I saw wanted last night and it was ridiculous, in a good way. It was funny, entertaining, mindless, and awesome. It's been getting good reviews. The director totally took action cliches and made them work. If people say "take it for what it is" to transformers then i say the same thing for this movie. I haven't read the comic and obviously it's not a full adaptation, but I enjoyed it. It's been getting comparisons of something like The Matrix and Fight Club....don't read to much into that or else you will expect too much.
