Anyone who's paid attention around here knows Blu-News is credible.

Anyway, I'm hoping for lossless audio, or no sale.

The music and sound effects make this movie so much more effective I really hope WB doesn't screw up on this one.

They (New Line) had two releases of ANOES on DVD and still screwed it up by not putting on them most of the extras from the awesome Elite Entertainment Laserdisc release. It would not surprise me if WB did no better.

And not just with a 5.1 remix, but with the original mono track in PCM as well. But once again, given WB track record, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Not to mention the fact that it's an open question what DVD edition they're going to base this Blu-ray release on. The first release (the box set) had DP Jaques Haitkin's approved color timing and the original mono track, while the latter Infinifilm release had a newer, butchered color timing not DP-approved and the "mono track" apparently was nothing more than a downmix of the new 5.1 track.

Here's a couple of links to find out more:

(starts at the middle of the page)

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...commended.html

My guess is they'll use the incorrect latter release. That's usually the way it goes, it seems.

Yeah as much as I love how they have made the infinifilm release look newer, it has a horrible cold blue hue to it,and quite dark, not the warm hue it had on the original dvd release.

That might not be their fault. The extras may require licensing from Elite. Which depending on who even controls Elite's stuff anymore could be too expensive to secure and include. That's why most of the extras on Criterion Laserdiscs arn't re-licensed for inclusion on non-Criterion releases.

The best way to make it happen is to request it with your cash.
The better the first one sells, the more incentive that they will have to move down the line.

New Nightmare was a pretty good dive back into the horror side of it. I agree the series kind of went for like the comedic horror angle which is always sucky to see. I mean look at fu**ing Chucky.

Yeah the first chucky was cool and then it was like enough already. I mean seed of chucky was just a mistake. Its the originals that are still the best. With all these horror announcements. I'm left only craving the exorcist and the original amityville horror. I can leave Friday the 13th because they just never were scary at all.

I would really love Child's Play on Blu-ray. I have never seen The Exorcist all the way through but I would prolly get that as well. I would get The Friday the 13th boxset not so much that I found them to be scary but pretty entertaining. I wouldn't be surprised if Paramount is actually preparing those for Blu-ray considering the Friday the 13th remake is right around the corner.

Agreed. Along with Halloween, I am sure that I will be double dipping much like I did for DVD. And Warner knows this, I'm sure.

Wouldn't you know. I FINALLY bought A Nightmare on Elm Street on DVD about a month ago because I figured it would be a pretty long time before it ever hit BD. Good thing I only paid about $10 for it. Oh well.
