Default Madden 09: Yay or Still Nay?

Now that the Madden 09 Demo has been released, your thoughts?

I personally, like it A LOT! The graphics are sweeeeeeter than pie, the A.I seems great, and the highlight stick seems much more better. Overall, it's a buy for me!

Yo Adrian! I won't be buying this cause I still have to use the right analog stick to kick the damn ball.

What do you usually prefer?

I like the idea of the analog stick for kicking the ball

I still like the old fashioned way by pushing the X button.

Edit - People on these forums need to stop attacking each other for unnecessary reasons, if someone does something wrong, uses wrong grammar/spelling, or has a different opinion from others, it does not give you the right to bash them, you just look like a complete fool doing it.

I already reserved the game because I faithfully buy Madden every year. After playing the demo, I was a little disappointed. It wasn't that the game sucks or anything, the gameplay seemed like an upgrade compared to previous versions, I just thought the graphics could of been better. Either way it still looks like it's going to be good, I just wish the graphics were better. Another thing I wish would change is the cover of the game. After all of this Brett Favre and Green Bay drama going on each day showing as the main sports headline on ESPN, I'm tired of seeing or hearing about him. I wish they put Michael Strahan or Eli on the cover since the Giants won the Superbowl last year.

I played the demo and really didn't dig it that much. Of course, I'm still bitter that they had to stop making the 2k series. NFL 2k5 is still the best football game ever IMO.

I won't even give Madden another look until they drop that horrid "car radio" announcer. They've got Madden, Micheals, and ESPN. How about, and here's the crazy though, you actually USE THEM! NFL 2K was the superior football game.

Well the last (and only) Madden game I've ever played is Madden '05 on PS2.

One thing I don't like about the new one though, that I read in ESPN the Magazine is they have a "Do-over" type of gimmick in there now.

So you throw an interception against the Colts? No problem, just hit a button and rewind it and try it again.

And say you rip off an 80 yard punt return for a touchdown? The other team can just rewind it and kick it out of bounds.

Apparantly you get anywhere from 1 to 3 to 0 of these a game. I don't care for that.

But maybe that's just me.

I really wanted to buy it and get back into the Madden series (last Madden I bought was '05 or '06), but the lack of trophy support has put me off, I'll wait for the '10 version.

Just played the demo, it was ok. Really hard to get a feel for it when they give you a freakin' minute and a half! I will say that I liked last years demo better, but never bought it.

They did replace him!! THey have Collinsworth and one of the guys from NCAA doing it.

Overall the graphics are a big jump, but the demo was very controlled. (IE, no defense, no 2min quarters, etc)

I'll like to see how easy it is to cheat the system. Spectacular catch reuined the 08 version.

How are the graphics compared to NCAA 09? Are they better or pretty much the same engine?

I said no because the last time i bought madden was probably '03 and the demo wasnt very different. Not sure what i want from it, but since im not a hardcore sports gamer this one can slide for me.

Kind of with you except the last Madden I bought was 99 or 2000. I just don't see what the deal is. The newer ones just feel alot different and I never got into it. As far as the last couple of ones. Why keep buying them. They put a couple more things and its WOW!!!! If you have Madden 07 will they let you update the team or do they make you buy the new game?

I will probably wait this one out and buy Tiger Woods instead. The Madden games have been progressively worse. Their attempts to make it feel more like real football is the reason I hate it. My guess is that Madden 10 will have a huge box. Inside that box with be a ball and a helmet. The instructions will say, "Place helmet on head. Throw the ball to your friend. Enjoy the realistic enviornments and graphicsm, so real you think you're there. The most realistic football experience ever."
