Unhappy SXRD is dead too

DLP may look pretty good (or may have when it first came out), but now -- thin is in.

2 Years ago the SXRD looked the best of any display out there and I was happy with it. But now I really don't like the washed out blacks (really greys) and I can see auto-iris at work sometimes which increases the dynamic constrast to 15,000:1. When I notice it, it is annoying. Rear projectors also have poor off-axis viewing and cannot tolerate a lot of light in the room. Besides all this they are big and bulky.

Like most people, I think that the compact size is very appealing.

And plasma is a superior picture now with all of its improvements.

Now I 'm thinking of getting a plasma (on order - in 6 or 7 weeks), but have to get rid of the albatross of the 60" RPTV that nobody wants. It may be hard to even give it away!

Oh well, live and learn.
