They had epic nerd fits cause it wasn't the MJ wankfest they wanted her to be. Only keep stating but MJ in the comics is hot. But she's hot. Though she's hot. That was their only argument. So show's you where some people have their heads at most of time.

To think that somebody would be watching this movie and come away from it by saying. "A casting director was just checking off ethnicities." -- is beyond pathetic.

Who cares? A bunch of young actors came in to audition and they picked out some interesting faces/voices/attitudes, etc.

The main cast is all white Holland, Tomei, Keaton, Downey, Favreau -- to pretend to feign umbrage because they had a few different Asians, backs, mixed race -- only because they were "checked off a list" is so freakin' phony.

I guess it depends on the circumstances... some people will be fine with anything or complain about anything. As far as mj... they hid that for the entire production so that also is a problem.

That's the issue... it's all about nonwhite vs everything else.

It's the first I've heard of it. If he is though... makes me almost positive that Venom actually WILL be an MCU film. That'd be a really kick ass way to have the third Spider-man film be Spider-Man: The Sinister Six. Maybe the symbiote for 2? If they build it up through Avengers 3, 4, and the Venom spin-off, that'd be enough for me to think Peter would be ready by the time Homecoming 2 comes around.

Some obese guy and his wife/girlfriend were standing behind my chair waiting for the end credits and he was whining about MJ being a "hot redhead" and was going on and on about the ending reveal. The guy looked every bit of mid to late 40's...yet he's all upset over a high school aged character being hot. Just pathetic.

B***h about diverse ethnicities being cast all you want, it creates more job opportunities for these actors/actresses down the road in films outside of this franchise. 5 years from now, we could all be raving about how great some of them have become since Homecoming, and it was all thanks to a studio and director who had the foresight to mix things up a bit.

I think MT is fine at May. She's never referred to as Aunt May I don't think in this. Just only May as Peter and Tony call her.
