A great reboot of the web slinging hero. Tom Holland really is the best Spidey we have had yet and I hope it continues further in the MCU.

Wished there was more Zendaya but I loved her in the scenes we did get and with the role she is playing, I'm sure she will have a much larger chunks to play in the future.

You are noticing and focusing on the kids nationality. It did not change their acting or how they fit together at all. You guys are even going to the length of debating the amount of Asians in schools to prove your point it was PC sub culture. That's insane. Did the film show these different races as different and make them pander to audiences about sub-cultures and overly emphasize their skin color? No. So if this "issue" took you out of the film, well that's some sort of racial issue you need to deal with.

I live in Los Angeles and was part of the Academic Decathlon team for my high school 20+ years ago. My high school has actually won the National competition several times and the ethnic makeup of the teams has very much been similar to the team shown in the movie. The two years I was on the team, it looked a lot like the movie minus the two black characters. I really don't see the problem.

Next year we have his appearance in Infinity War, in addition to the PS4 game where his suit has gadgets, and a Miles Morales animated film. Lots of Spidey to look forward to soon. I hope the animated series premiering this month is better than Ultimate Spider-Man.

It's no different than people getting bent over Oscars so white, ghost in the Shell, or any other thing. It's always a racist issue when white people complain.... while I think there is some of that I just think it's not right to change an established characters race or look.... especially if it's over pandering.

I miss Spectacular Spidey, hopefully it turns out to be on par with that.

They have changed races of characters in comic book movies for a long time. What does MJ being white with red hair mean for the character outside of a purely aesthetic purpose? Hugh Jackman isn't short yet is loved as Wolverine. Why does it suddenly become worse if the skin changes colors vs just height changing?
