No thanks. I'll pay a little more (and that's really ALL it is) for a quality product from a trusted company.
I agree but it's really a matter of preference. I've never liked Samsungs TV's but other people swear by them. I'm pretty much a Sony man but I dont like the new frames they are putting on the new XBR series. I'm glad I got mine when I did, I love the look of the XBR 4

Im not a big fan of the new styling, the xbr4 and the xbr5 had the best styling Sony has ever done

With Vizio its all marketing, I will say that last years models were a lot better looking both Asthetics and PQ then my '07, but I think what happens is people see marketing, they go to BB and Vizios aren't there and so they go to Walmart. Plus a lot of Ghetto people that go to Walmart are just happy their welfare checks will afford a new HDTV, they don't care about features or quality parts, their shopping at Walmart. Most people will never use their HDTV properly anyways, it will never be calibrated, they won't hook it up to HD cable/Satelite so why should they spend more on a better quality TV. My sister-in-law was saying that they switched to FiOS and how much better their Vizio Plasma looks, they fall right into what I am talking about, never calibrated ro adjusted the settings and still don't use HD programming.

This is very true, I sadly used to work at Wal Mart and people would come in to buy a new plasma when Wal Mart started carrying them. Then I would try to offer an up converting dvd player (because that was the best they carried at the time) and/or proper cable and they would reply "no, I'm just going to hook my VCR and rabbit ears up to it."

I am not sure but I think I read somewhere Vizio was no longer going to make TVs. Is this correct or am I smoking something?
