Hey guys, not trying to be negative here, but why would you marry a girl who doesn't let you fully enjoy your hobbies? You guys are talking about selling the old tv and lying to the wife about the sell price and keeping the tv at a friends house and lying to ur wife that you sold it... are you serious? You shouldn't be married to a girl if you are gonna lie and manipulate her.

I am married also, and when we moved into our apartment my wife insisted that we get a TV at least 46" in size. I also upgraded to an Onkyo 706 reciever and the Energy 5.1 Take Classic system and when the wife came home and saw the 5.1 setup she replied "So where the hell is the 7.1!?".
Now thats what I'm talking about!! Maybe you guys should marry a girl who lets you fully enjoy your hobbies or enjoys the same hobbies instead of lying and manipulating

understand your point, I guess it just depends on the allocation of money in the relationship based on each members income... I may think a TV is priority where she may have a different priority/hobbie and want to allocate money elsewhere.. IMO

Adjust the settings on your current TV a little bit at a time and make it look worse and worse and then say there is something wrong with the tv and then start looking around for deals on tvs etc and also just go out one day to a shop she likes or something and stop by best buy or somewhere similar on your way home and be like oooooo do you like this one - I dunno but sounds better than my proven method of physical abuse... (kidding!). To be honest if she loves you she will want the TV else find a new Mrs

Don't brake/spill soda on it and claim on the insurance, that is fraud and would only just jack up your premium when your policy came up for renewal (if there is even a payout) and if you go elsewhere you would need to disclose the claim and then they would jack it up to cover the added risk
