You're right, they never did. I'm now forcing myself to get to the end of the show. I've ignored the later seasons for too long and while I know they're terrible I should watch them rather than replying on clips, plot synopsis etc.

The first season was brilliant. The second was pretty good, albeit a case of "which movie are they ripping off this week?", and the third whilst hit and miss did have some really good episodes. The only saving grace for the last couple of years was that Kari Wuhrer was (extremely) easy on the eyes.
Season 3 was where they ripped off movies. Season 2 was where everyone looks desperate and homesick but the writing is pretty good though different to Season 1 in tone.

Germany puts out tons of shows on blu-ray, not just live action but 80's cartoons have made their way to blu-ray in SD.

For Season 3 of Sliders they had the largest budget the show ever had. They had time to plan some episodes with storyboards which might explain why at least the first three episodes filmed have a movie quality in how the camera works. Most TV shows like Sliders back then have slightly disorganised but absolutely fine camera work.
