Imagine how many shows in SD that could be crammed on a single BD25 or BD50.

OK, but we will not be able to upscale from the BR using a PS3, in that case, original NTSC DVDs will become more valuable. Unless an update on the PS3 finally make SD content upscalable.

"Probably"?

I've got at least one show with a whole season in 1080p on a single disc. Now, it's only 13 episodes (Venture Bros. season 3), but still. At 480p, many shows could do a whole series on a single disc. As it is, I don't think any of my Blu-ray TV show season sets have more than 3 discs.

Well, I'm pretty sure they redid the special effects for the Original Series, so why would that stop them from doing TNG?

I believe I read somewhere that the problem with doing TNG was that the film source would need to be recut "manually" because while normally there should be logs detailing the edit information, for some reason, there isn't for TNG (perhaps due to the special effects being mastered on tape?).
