1.82 firmware download/install PS3 problem

If you are going to redownload the firmware to your PC, make sure you clear the local cache to make sure it's actually pulling the file anew instead of pulling from the local cache.

try burning to a flash drive or perhaps a "data" cd-r

still no luck. i'm doing a full hdd format now, will try again when it finished this afternoon...

fortunately, i did get to watch some movies on it last night and the picture and sound were both outstanding!

maybe have a friend try to download/burn it at their house.

Are you connected via wireless or are you plugged in?

I had a similar error pop up a lot with my wireless connection, I then hid the SSID name in my router settings and I haven't gotten it since.

I'm wireless, but I have the same error if I use a usb flash drive too.

I completed a hdd reformat, and tried again several times, including multiple flash drives, and in different usb ports, and over wireless, and still always crap out at 60-70% with the same error. time to call sony...

Problem solved: my evil router at home was corrupting the .pup file over both wireless and wired connections. Downloaded the file at work and the upgrade via usb stick was quick and easy!
