Feel like we're due for another store exclusive.

Indeed - since next Tuesday is the last release window of the month, presumably if there is one it would be revealed by the end of the week.

Not Scream Factory related b8ut I wouldn't mind a Gerry Anderson series being a Shout! website exclusive. I know most of the Network releases are region free but sometimes you also want a domestic release you know?

Not Scream Factory related, but Shout Factory related, but the "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry / Race with the Devil double feature blu-ray listing on Amazon there's an image of "The White Princess" DVD for the cover art for the listing

My copy of Fire in the Sky arrived from Amazon with a few scratches on the disc but it played all the way through fine. I had never seen the imprint release but I thought Shouts looked really good besides some weird occasional flickering (don’t know if it was just my tv). Cool movie, we don’t get enough Alien Abduction movies for it being such a popular topic. I will say the story dragged a tad during the middle but it was worth getting through to see the abduction sequence

Cat People pushed back again to 30th August, and The Funhouse to 6th September.

At this rate I'd be pretty amazed if the Child's Play releases stuck to the schedule. In anticipation of this, I expect September's announcements will be pretty light.

Well, as long as the QC is good they can delay them for as long as they need to.

Ugh, if this is how it actually turns out, that's seemingly all Shout ever does anymore is stupid "interviews". Where's the deleted scenes? The TV cut? Where's a "Making Of" documentary? Something more than just interviews. They do basic interviews and they couldn't even get
Graeme Revell. He made the best score of all the films. Why wasn't he interviewed?

Yeah, it's a wonder even those were included, but damn. Seems almost lazy on Shout's part.

A while ago, I watched an interview with Sean Clark (the guy who did the Horror's Hallowed Grounds). He mentioned that Scream/Shout Factory doesn't like doing 'long making of documentaries' anymore. They no longer hire people like Sean Clark or Michael Felsher (who actually want to make full-on documentaries) and they cheap out.

The way that Sean put it? Shout Factory enjoys and prefer the 'long list of names' aka 'Interview with...' 'Interview with...' because it seems like you are getting a Ton of features (when they are listed on both the back of the Blu-Ray/4K and onto websites) when you are really not.

Yeah I hate how most of their extras now are simply interviews. And often the person being interviewed will talk about the film for a bit but then it devolves into a discussion of their entire careers and you're like how is this relevant to the film at hand? I'm often bored by them and they're usually a one-time watch (and many I just skip entirely). I'd definitely take something like a commentary over an interview.

That being said, the interview with Jamie Lee Curtis on Shout's blu-ray of The Fog is actually fantastic. It's one of their good ones.

Maybe the reason they pushed these two releases back is so they can focus on finishing the Child’s Play discs.

I'd rather they released the She Creature remake. Trailer looks like a snoozefest. Don't think I've seen Flesh eaters, the trailer shows a whopping 2 scenes and seemed kind of funny. These will be available till at least Aug probably.

I believe there are now only 4 sci-fi/horror films from the Arkoff AIP catalogue left to release:

Blood of Dracula (1957)
Cat Girl (1957)
The Undead (1957)
Voodoo Woman (1957)

There are other titles from the catalogue, though I don't anticipate we'll see many of these.

Has anybody figured out the reason or rationale for which titles get wide releases and which titles are limited/exclusive?

I think its a way to quickly move 1500 units of a title that would normally sell about 500. FOMOs a hell of a drug.
