Default Wireless connection problem with Samsung BD-P3600

I have a new Samsung BD-P3600 and a netgear wireless router. I have no problems with access via my laptops to the wireless network, but am unable to access the wireless networks via my blu ray player. I have disabled all encryption and can view the wireless network from the access point directory on the blu ray player. Any help with this problem would be much appreciated.

Has anyone told you that you need some type of adapter to get WiFi for the BD player you have? IMO, its pretty freakin stupid. Samsung wants people to spend more so they can make more. If you buy a Sony (they also have BD players that have WiFi but don't require an adapter), they'll treat you right.

Have you read the reviews,... or talked to Samsung tech or your router tech ? Just curious. Just read this also.

Sometimes it evidently takes a while to negotiate the connection,... doesn't say why.

The 3600 includes the adapter free.

+1...the 3600/4600 come with the wireless adaptor and builtin memory. The 1600 is the one without builtin memory and a wireless adaptor. I'd keep messing with the wifi. Make sure you have the right security type picked. I thought for sure mine was wep but it was one of the other ones...not to mention instead of the password it needed the security key (or was it the other way around?). Anyways it was a process setting it up but has worked great since.

I did not know that. I might look into it. Besides Sony and Samsung, do you know if there any Panasonic or Pioneer BD players that are WiFi?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have tried just about every configuration. I have called samsung and netgear and neither can find the solution. It has connected twice, but both times was not able to hold the connection or reconnect. If anyone has anymore suggestions, please let me know. I bought this model for this option.

It might be as simple as repositioning the router antenna. Is there anything that might block the signal ?

I have this player also. I needed to connect wifi and the Sony model I wanted would have cost me an additional 100.00 for the wireless bridge. I have had not one issue with the player playing dvds, blu-ray discs of my movies recorded on dvd+r.....great player all around and the biggest deal is the wifi dongle included......only issue I have ever had was a few titles instant streaming from netflix has some freezing issues.....but only twice since I have had it in the past month.......great player!! The new Samsung players will have VUDU on board...I hope there is a firmware upgrade for this to be installed on our players, but if it doesn't happen I am ok with it as I have a VUDU set top box also.
