If there are issues playing back DV disks it's possible that could be fixed with a DV version update. For the LG they aren't seperate updates, part of the entire OS update bundle. |

Yes, I was asleep when you asked, so I wasn't able to reply earlier. It would be interesting to know exactly what this function does when used. But, I've got a feeling this is just the players local contrast function as it does seem to sort of work in that way. If it's actually that, than people got additional settings. Since most TVs usually just have 3 for local contrast. Though, most would use the lowest setting, if at all, because the higher settings tend to ruin the picture (most notably on animation features).

You have to play SDR content like a bluray or DVD then hit the option button and a menu, similar to the HDR optimizer menu while playing HDR content, will pop up and it's there. Never knew about it some said they preferred Cinema or Fine cinema but I'll stick with normal for purest signal as Geoffy said.
