PS3 freezes after 2.00 install!! - Page 3 - Blu-ray Forum

mine froze once right after update, i was fooling around in the menu, went to the ps store and whent to leave it and it locked up. I did a hard reboot and it's been fine since.

Now i can't verify this for sure, but i think my ps3 has turned on by itself twice. I may have bumped the button but i dont think i did.

I think some of you guys are having problems because of the new PSN Ticker(Information board). Turn it off, it try's to connect to the PSN network and sometimes hangs up the PS3 for a couple of seconds trying to get update information.

Make sure you have Remote start off also.

I updated my PS3 to the new 2.0 software. No problems for me, but I do have the newer PS3's so who knows.

Since I don't do anything online, I don't see a point in this update. And a lot of people are having problems with their machines locking up now. I'm still running 1.93 until an update is absolutely necessary, because my machine is running without a hitch right now.

I read the thread earlier today and decided not to post until i test my system. I don't have any problems whatsoever with the PS3. it is actually running smoothly after the update.

I installed the update on my older 60G PS3. No problems whatsoever.
