I think that in a few months from now (in the summer) we will see 100GB media from Panasonic and TDK, then from the others maybe SONY first ...
Also many will talk about the 200GB media.

I'm probably oversimplifying this, but when I see stuff like this, it really feels like the sky is indeed the limit for BD.

I just read on AVS Amir has started to big up 60GB dual layer/sided flipper discs for HD DVD, is this an admission that TL isn't actually real.

On the BD side, 100GB should be easy enough for writers, but don't hold out much hope for movies using these discs. TDK have sampled the 200GB BD-R/E disc in production level quantities, so it will only be a matter of time until the B/V diodes catch up and are able to resolve 6 layers.

Not sure, but that is one of several recent examples of complete hypocrisy and flip flopping by the HD-DVD bunch.

This is the same crew that's been telling us for months that BD's extra space is "overkill, redundant, unecessary," and was "vaporware" outright until BD50's were showing as early as October of last year?

Lie after lie after lie. I thought VC-1 meant you didn't need a lot of space?

I guess you can just dial down the bitrates and data rates some more to make it fit.

This the kind of thing that earns contempt and why I'm proactively working towards HD-DVD abolishment.

I can't stand the idea that I'd be putting money into the pockets of people like these.

I hope they just keep cranking it up and cranking it out!
