What Would You Consider Is The Best FPS Game On The PS3 Right Now?

1. Innovation and multiplayer -UT3 (Unlimited user created content is critical to helping it flourish).

2. Graphics, sound and playability - Call of Duty 4

3. Storyline and style - Resistence: Fall of Man

For the initial razzle dazzle I would go with COD4 but I would have to agree with my fellow posters that UT3 wins in the re-playability dept.

Well since I have been disappointed with the UT series after the orginal UT (I still miss my redeemer!!).. I will have to go with COD4. I appreciate the realisam. Prior military background here, so I guess I am kinda bias.

I have only tried Resistence, but I loved the campaign mode since I do not play online.

What is the best FPS for campaign mode only? I am looking at getting one and am deciding between UT3 and the Orange Box.

If you dont play online, go with the orage box. hl2 is one of the best fps's Ive played.

If online play isn't your thing then the Orange Box is by far the best choice out there. Many people (I dare say a vast majority) consider the Half Life series as the holy grail of FPS campaigns. In my opinion, there is no rival in terms of campaign play. And you can't find a package with more content. Not just content, but quality content. This isn't one of those value packs with a few old, played out games in it. And surprisingly, you will have as much fun playing the 3 hours of Portal as any other game out there. It caught me way off guard when I first played it as to how much fun it was. The Orange Box is worth every single dime you pay for it.

But Unreal Tournament still wins hands down over everything in terms of online play. When people get over the newness of games like Call of Duty 4, people will still be kicking it on UT3. There is no equal in online play.

Unreal Tournament 3 has the best graphics of any FPS game on the PS3, hands down. Not realistic like CoD4, but crisper and prettier nonetheless.

CoD4's online is comparable, but the flaky connections compared to UT3 make me give the nod to UT3. Plus modifications to UT3 will give it way more legs than CoD4 will have.

And yes, Warhawk is a third person shooter and doesn't belong in this discussion at all.

+1, completely addicted to it. I've bought CoD4 and Assassin's Creed after Warhawk only to go right back to it.

But Warhawk isn't a true FPS, so my vote is CoD4.

Warhawk is still a blast to play. It isn't the most in depth game but the simplicity of it and the feel just make it a fun arcade type shooter.

Ok UT was innovative to be the first PS3 game to use mouse/keyboard and and user content. This isn't really innovating.. just new to the PS3. The game itself offers little in innovation to FPS genre in gameplay.

Resistance Fall Of Man is my favorite by far. Especially online in a 'snipers only' game.

I've been banned from getting any games until Christmas which will hopefully include Unreal and COD 4 under the tree

Resistance is the best, the campain was amazing. I like using the Auger, Dragon, and Arc Charger in online

cod4 is more realistic but UT3 is just plain fun.

Warfare is pretty innovative. It combines the awesomeness of onslaught with the mission goals of assault, and then throws a little bombing run in there with the orb.

UT2004 expanded on the capture point of battlefield while making it so you couldnt attack a node not attached to the others. This created fronts that didnt exist in battlefield and therefore being "innovatove"

UT3 just expands that with warfare, which is basically onslaught on crack.
