Simon Helberg said in an interview to expect a cliffhanger.

What cliffhanger? I'm not really seeing one.

Really happy that
[Show spoiler]Raj has gotten over his phobia about talking to women.

And was last night the
[Show spoiler]1st time Penny told Leonard that she loved him??
Yeah, if they start to change him, it would be the end of the show imo.

The most genuine emotion and caring moment I have seen from him, was when he said to Penny "Please don't hurt my friend", really calmly and sadly.. when Penny was thinking of breaking up with Leonard.

Somehow I knew they were going to find a way to
[Show spoiler] bring Raj out of his shell and get him to finally talk to women. I notice that in the past two seasons, Raj is almost always shown with a beer bottle in his hand so they are able to make Raj speak in front of the girls. In the first couple of seasons, Raj not speaking to women was funny. But after a while, you can tell that the writers saw no point in dragging it along any further. I think the writers now decided to bring Raj out of his shell so in the following season(s), they can focus on Raj getting into a relationship. Makes sense, since he's the only one left that's not in one. Obviously, if he never is able to speak to women, that's never going to happen. So, the writers saw fit to use Lucy as a way to snap Raj out of his fear of talking to women.

I've seen every episode. I enjoy it and find it amusing, but I have no idea why the crowd laughs so much. Some of those jokes are so obscure, there's no way the audience gets it.

They claim they don't. I saw a behind the scenes taping thing on YouTube and they certainly look to be laughing hysterically.

They can claim all they want go back and watch all the seasons again all the laughs seem to be exactly the same tone depth and length that to me says laugh track. If they were not laugh tracking then you would have different variations of laughs, including some single source laughs which the show does not have.

Don't get me wrong I love the show laugh my ass off watching it, and will continue to do so, but this show like 2.5 Men Screams laugh track

I hope with the next series they don't mess around with it. Having it vanish for weeks then come back for one episode then vanish again was really annoying.

Also they have to keep Kate Micucci.

That makes me a little sad, was hoping Raj's first woman would be with him for awhile, I mean even Dr. Cooper has been with his girl for a long time now.

I think you are being fooled by digital balancing. They don't want you to be deafened, nor have to listen closely to hear the laughter. This has the side effect of making it all sound roughly the same.

Note that they do this for all sounds on TV shows, this isn't anything special.

I'd also mention I saw them discussing the fact that on occasion they have had to completely edit out particularly obnoxious outlier laughter. I wish I could remember where I saw this, but it's been years.

It's pretty easy to tell they use real laughter though. Watch behind the scenes stuff and compare it to the real show. Unless you believe they are so intent on hiding their laugh track usage that they add a laugh track to behind the scenes rough-cut stuff where the audience isn't even the focus. Usually shows with a laugh track have complete silence behind them in behind the scenes footage.

People who have gone to see tapings have said that they end up laughing at stuff they don't even understand, because of the environment. Sort of "I can tell that was supposed to be funny, so I'm laughing" moment.

May I add? You can tell it is not a laugh track because of the pacing, the timing, and the actors responses. They have to wait for the laughter to die sometimes before delivering the next lines.

wouldn't that be more of a "I can tell that was supposed to be funny, and I don't want to appear to be the idiot that did not get the joke, so I'm laughing". On the other hand laughter is also contagious.

I enjoy the series but its losing its steam for me and its starting to drag on, something needs to happen to stir it up a bit.
I dont know if they do it for US shows but a few of the sitcoms Ive seen taped sometimes show a episode that hasnt been screened yet and even though they were filmed in front of an audience they screen it in sequence for an audience and record the laughter.
As for the laughter sometimes being a bit much , i think that as this is the first sitcom that geeks ( of which I am) can actually go and watched get taped I think that the audience are already hyped up before they even get in the studio.
Just imagine if we could of watched Buffy, Angel or any of our other favourite shows being taped.
Yes I know they werent filmed before any audiences but thats my point with this being the first opportunity for geeks to watch a show they love being taped.
