Blu-ray is clearly selling better then HD is and is more popular. We'll have to see how much longer this format war goes on.

HD-DVD was the "chosen" format, but Sony said they thought BD was far superior (which it is) that they weren't going to give up on it. (Also, financial implications are huge). So they kept developing BD, and as we can all see, most studios love it, but HD-DVD was the one chosen at first to succeed DVD.
