I will go see it twice. The first time I had all the pent up expectations. Now I can watch it and judge it for what it is. I think I'll watch Crusade before I see it again though.

I thought about doing that, but I was afraid it may make it worse. I'll go see it again, definitely, but I was expecting to feel like I HAVE to see it again, and I don't, which crushes my spirits a bit.

Would be great to have another Jack Ryan film starring Harrison Ford. Sum of All Fears was ok but not that great. Ben Affleck as Jack Ryan was simply a bad choice. It didn't even make sense on a basic historical timeline compared to the other 3 films. Hence, if they were to make at least one more film starring that character, Harisson Ford would be the man. Alec Baldwin was good in Hunt for Red October but Harrison Ford nailed that character perfectly.

Harrison Ford ruined Patriot Games. He put me to sleep with his groaning, monotonous voice. What was up with that? Rumor had it that he was grumpy about getting "Only" $20 million for the role instead of Alec Baldwin, who was asking for an RV that cost only $2 million in addition to his acting fee of $5 million. Hollywood, they really stink at math sometimes.

If they make another Jack Ryan film with Ford, I will not even watch the TRAILERS.

I've read the older Jack Ryan novels, here they are for anyone that wants to look them up:

Debt of Honor
Executive Orders
The Bear and the Dragon

Doing a movie of those is basically an Air Force One performance, that is pretty much what would be required. Ford might be 10 years older than the character is at the start of the first book, but there's no action roles for Jack Ryan in these books. There's a lot of action, but not for Jack Ryan.

Done right they'd make great movies, but given the way they changed Sum of All Fears for the big screen I have serious doubts. These movies would 'offend'
[Show spoiler]Japan, Iran, India, and China
. They would also have to ignore the current history of the
[Show spoiler]Iraq war or portray an American withdrawal in a story that would make a case against American withdrawal
.

I'd much rather see them do a reboot of the Jack Ryan franchise that do another one with Harrison Ford. Wouldn't it be great to see like 3 (or more) movies done with the same actor that stick a little bit closer to Clancy's actual timeline?
