I'm not so sure about that. Just to give some perspective, Halo one sold 5 million copies worldwide and Halo 2 sold 7 million copies while Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty sold 6 million copies and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater sold 3.6 million copies. Maybe you're right though since MG has more iterations of the game and I don't know if my Snake Eater statistics include the Subsistence remakes. I just know that I have way more friends talking about Halo then MG. I'm excited though. I have beat all the console versions of MG, including the gamecube remake of Twin Snakes, and I just bought MG: portable ops for the psp. Definitely going to pre-order MGS4 for the PS3.

The latest Kojima Productions Report podcast is one of the best I've heard with four of the 1UP/EGM staff taking over with most of the discussion.

It also confirms once again that the game is being developed 100% as a PLAYSTATION 3 game with no compromises made.

That's great news. It would probably limit what they could do if they developed for the 360 simultaneously, like with GTA 4.

KOJIMA CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF METAL GEAR

Kojima Productions is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Metal Gear with its upcoming release of the Metal Gear Solid Collection, as well as a Metal Gear 20th Anniversary Party on July 24th in Japan. A new demonstration of Metal Gear Solid 4 using actual PS3 hardware will be shown at the party, so looks like it's almost certain we will see something new on the game very soon.

halo is very much over hyped i never played the first and second until i got 360 and i bought the first for like 5.99 from gamestop. After playing it soon after getting my 360 there wasnt anything special about it a good fps but i wasnt like OMG HALO HALO HALO lots of it is over hype. and if anyone here has read recent interviews they confirmed that the beta graphics will almost 98% be the graphics used in the entire 3rd game. and when i saw the beta those graphics didnt stand out on any level

twin snakes wonderful port to the gamecube its really cool to see the original updated and having new moves like fps and such well worth the 129$ for the system

I think Halo 3 is a bit over rated but I do belive it will be a great game. I'm definatly getting it. But I personaly think Haze looks alot beter.

That picture is really poor to be honest. Haze looks 10x better. But I still think Halo will be good.

My honest thoughts are I really doubt it will. MGS4 is the only game that hasn't been confirmed as a PS3 exclusive that I think will be a exclusive.. And I know there just teasing us by not telling. I really cant go on the 360. We all know its on a BD50, And we all know its will be alot of dvds for the 360. But I think that the 360 couldn't handle that game either. And I think konami know that too. But they don't wanna say so they can suprise us. After all it is a big game. And its Kojimas last.

And I'm going to guess it will be released the 24th of August, as thats Kojimas B-Day.

24th of July will the the 20th aniversary of MGS.

On this day, Koji prodcutions will hold a party in Japan, in which they will show a playable DEMO of the game.

Personally, I hope MGS4 will also be on E3, because I am allready waiting so long, the extra few weeks of waiting will blow my head up.

I dont need a playable Demo at E3, but atleast a trailer and a release date man.

Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy were the only reason I bought Playstations 1 and 2. There was the occasional Twisted Metal and Tekken, but those were the only real reasons I bought the systems. They're the reason I now own a PS3, though I'm giving other games more of a chance now. If either of those games go multi-platform, I'd be pretty pissed off. They just feel at home on the Playstation. Unless of course, they're on a Nintendo console, where they began

And I agree, The Twin Snakes was a sweet remake of the original MGS. I loved my Gamecube and I was beyond hyped when it got both the remake of MGS and Resident Evil 1.

You can't take away what Halo did for the home console FPS market. It pretty much revived a dead genre on home consoles after Goldeneye and Perfect Dark had made it pretty much impossible for anything after those to seem worth while.

Whatever you may think of Halo as a game is a matter of opinion, but after Halo 2's huge opening day success, its become a huge pop culture icon. Halo 3, even if it is crap will likely still sell millions of copies, as well as some xbox 360s as well.

As for MGS4, I am pretty sure this will never go to Xbox 360. I remember reading an article where Kojima was talking about how he was using multi-channel uncompressed sound along with the game for something like a whopping 36 GBs of memory total.

Even the worlds best compressionist could never hope to shrink the game to 1/4th of its size and expect to retain the same quality.

MGS4 has me foaming at the mouth to be quite honest. There is something about a Metal Gear game that screams quality from the moment you turn it on. The presentation is always top notch and the characters are always delightful over-the-top...

I serious think that if Kojima is going to end the MGS saga after this game, then we should expect MGS 4 to be one beautiful swan song for a series of games that changed the way we experianced stories in games for the better.

Either way this holiday season is going to be insane for video gamers with one or both of these consoles.

Yes!!!! Yes it does! Its fits the PS3 perfectly. If you had to name a game with the greatest qulity you would, without hesitation, say MGS2. No? And I know this game is going to be all round qulity. Kojima always wanted MGS to beg full of qulity and now it can be on the PS3. Thats a huge reason why it wont hit the 360. 360 isnt qulity. Its a box that plays (some very good) games. Where as a PS3 is a qulity home cinema machine that plays high qulity movies, high qulity music and high qulity games. Although I think MGS will be the first LMAO!

I agree with you completely. There is no doubt that 90-95% of 360 owners will have it. Halo 3 will definatly be a great game. But I still think Haze has this. Haze may not sell as many, or even be hyped up that much and we all know 360 fanboys will slate it, but it will still beat Halo 3.

No doubt MGS4 will be the daddy of all time. Then GTA4.
