I know, that's why I said he's on fire than doubting him, but some noise is nice sometimes.

Im glad to see these coming out in 4K. The first one is a classic. But - I prefer these in 3D myself. Enjoy though!

Digital bits got it all wrong...
It's The Lost World: Jurassic Park. [Show spoiler] Can't wait to get these...25th Anniversary of Part 1 and a new movie coming out...so it's fact they are coming this year unless some behind the scenes issue arises prior to a formal announcement. |

Since it's an ongoing series I'd hope they're all individual.
Might be similar to The Mummy Trilogy (in the US) so when JW:FK premieres we get a boxset, then a few months later we could get individual releases when JP:FK comes to home video. Or it could be the other way around, individual releases now and a boxset with JW:FK when that comes to home video. |

![]() You can see that the lighting and the texturing in the raptor's skin is lightyears better in Jurassic World That said it was fantastic by 1993 standards and its easy to see why its use of CGI was so groundbacking back in the day |

They have a plasticy look because you’re watching the movie with a completely ****ed up gamma, white balance and with the addition of edge enhancement and fake grain. Watch Jurassic Park on 35mm, really, if you’re a fan do it. Then tell me when and if you’re ever able to tell, by the look of it, when something’s CG or animatronic. CG needed to be literally perfect in this movie, as they were introducing a new technology that actually left without job an entire industry, it was either perfect or nothing. And if you’re replacing already built stop motion models (that are real, lit by real lightning and have perfect indirect lighting and self shadowing) you can’t deliver something that look “plasticy”. Yes, scales were bumb mapping and not polygons, yes, sometime the digital skin shows little glitches... but overall, you’ll never see digital creatures better animated or composited than these. ![]() ![]() P.S. Honestly, i find JW’s animations pathetic, from the embarassing and just wrong mo-cap on the raptors to the lack of any physics and visual taste of the keyframe animations . So ****ing bad and cartoonish on the raptors, but in general not in one single shot, except for a max of 5 in the entire movie of the Indominus, i felt that i was looking at something even remotely close to being real. But hey, 8K textures! Last edited by VickPS; 02-27-2018 at 05:48 PM. |

I saw someone in the Christmas Vacation thread say that the sled wax scene in Christmas Vacation looks a lot less hokey on the remaster because it has the blue push seen in 35mm prints and correct gamma unlike the older master which removed the blue to look "natural" and also exposed too much shadow information. The same can be said with several scenes in Jurassic Park. Although, no doubt if Universal released Jurassic Park with its original color palette, there'd be cries of "blanket tints" and "yellow and teal revisionism" from the usual suspects. |
