Man, after looking over these lists I realize how abysmal the movie-going experience was in 2008. Most of the films mentioned do not deserve the title of "Best Picture." The best is hopefully yet to come. I have high hopes for David Fincher's "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." I don't know how "The Dark Knight" could lose at this point.

My name is based on me running track in high school, and Usain Bolt.

It pisses you off that people have other opinions than you?

And its an obsession when you go into every thread you can and capitalize and bold that you love Heath Ledger and The Dark Knight.

And Bolt is far from a little kids movie. If it was, then your calling alot of people on this site out since I would bet 98% of this site loves Pixar movies which like Bolt is a family oriented movie

You can like animated movies. I like animated movies, but when it comes down to it being compared to a movie like The Dark Knight, their is no comparison. it's people like you that make me hate the Dark Knight. IT WASNT THAT GOOD! Sure it was amazing, absolutley the best comic movie ever, BUT it's NOT the best picture of 08. Milk is way better, as was Wall-e. And while Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker he sure as "crap" is NOT the best actor of the year. The funny thing is, I was one of Heath's fans BEFORE TDK. Were you? Doubtful. Half of the people spouting "Heath is the best actor ever" most likely never heard of him till The Dark Knight. That being said, TDK was great and is in my top five for the year.

1st bold point - don't really think that's a fair statement. no person can make you hate a movie, unless your own opinions are that easily influenced.

2nd bold point - while i never saw it, he was apparently incredible in brokeback mountain. and it's not like it necessarily takes 20 standout performances, or even more than one for that matter, to make someone think an actor is great. if you had only seen daniel day lewis in "there will be blood" and nothing else, i'm sure you would have considered it an incredible performance, even if he hadn't appeared in any other movie. sure most actors that give repeated stellar performances are more widely accepted as having great talent, but that doesn't mean that applies to everyone.

1. It's not HIM actually it's the people that have gone so insane over this movie.

2. True. I guess that want really directed at Spartan either. It was directed at those who say he is the "Best actor ever." thats just dumb.

i know what you mean. it makes you think after a while "ok was it really that big a deal?" and to you it might not be. to me it wasn't (even though i still considered it a great movie). but to some people it was, and that's something we should at least respect .

I consider it a great movie too. It was definetly the best of the year as of November 26th. And I do respect it. I guess I shouldn't have phrased it like i did in my original post. I apologize Spartan54.

Heck, My favorite movie of the year was I want to believe... and I'm proud of that fact.
