I'm wondering if anyone's seen this yet. Is it any good?

I saw it today. It was frickin horrible.

So bad it was good, that is.

In true cheese fashion following in ideal the laughably bad storyline of the original series, with some of the stupidest gags and jokes in the world that will make you feel like you're watching an Eddie Murphy movie without Eddie Murphy, this movie was simply hilarious.

I found myself saying "that's so stupid!" and then howling with laughter at just how stupid it was.

Honestly, this is just one of those movies. If you don't know how to take the humor, then you're not going to get it and all the horribleness of it will just be....horrible to you. Unfortunately for those holier than thou reviewers out there, the film is MEANT TO BE INCREDIBLY BAD.

It's like the Evil Dead series. Do you really think Ash and his completely ridiculous one liners are brilliant? Why? Because they are so bad they are good, and Bruce Campbell is just one of the best cheese actors out there able to keep a straight face through anything and act far more seriously and passionately than required for a film with such a stupid plot.

Will Ferrell at his best is able to channel this cheese factor as well, and keep a straight face through the stupidest of crap. What sets his other films apart from this is that the others were just bad, while this was DESIGNED to be bad FROM THE START. He really thrived in this movie, and I don't think I've laughed that hard at Will Ferrell in....well, ever.

Danny McBride was just okay, but I don't think he really got the point of the film until halfway through it, because he was only able to bring cheesy fun into the picture a few times in the movie.

Either way, people who don't get the humor or don't like the humor are going to hate this movie. People who love and live for this humor or just want to see a spoof of science fiction as a whole will probably love it, or at least have a lot of fun watching it.

Too often nowadays Comedies are given the "Dramedy" formula, where they try to shove some heavy handed moralistic message down our throat at the same time we're trying to laugh, leaving for a completely awkward taste in our mouths. I find myself laughing maybe once or twice through the entirety of films like this, and to be quite honest, I'm just sick and tired of it. The point of a comedy is to make you LAUGH. A LOT.

Land of the Lost, accepted for what it is and the humor it uses, WILL make you LAUGH. A LOT.

First good comedy I've seen in years.
