Default PS3 blu-ray Scart vs. Component

Hi, i have a 720p HDTV with ps3 and scart cables.

Blu ray looks good and i have just bought the HD compoenent cables and havn't had time to try them yet.

Will it be a big difference?

cheers

sorry, in UK we call the 3 connector cable scart.

so scart = normal cable that comes with ps3.

I forget what it stands for, but my understanding (i'm from the US where scart does not exist) is that scart is a special type of cable that carries audio AND video signals (it looks kinda like a flat ribbon). I also believe that the signals are ANALOG. while I think component is also analog, the signal is transmitted a different way. I think the component method will give you a better picture, being that I've heard in a lot of cases (given an HD signal) that component is hard to distinguish from HDMI, which is highest possible quality. Also I don't believe scart is able to carry an HD signal in the first place, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Short answer, yes, a huge difference. The included composite cables+scart adapter block doesn't even pass a decent quality standard definition picture, let alone a HD 720p picture that your tv is capable of.
