Racing game suggestion - Blu-ray Forum

I have burnout paradise and enjoy it.
Im looking for a good racing game...where you can ride around like burnout but be able to customize your vehicle fully...like rims...tires...engine..window tints...different kits...wish they had that in burnout but they just have different paint jobs which is still cool...do they have it in any newer racing games out? or coming out later?

Burnout is the only real free-roaming driving game on the market (well, unless you count something like GTA4, but I don't).

Gran Turismo 5 will likely have a lot of customization options, but it's not free-roaming.

I don't know enough about Split/Second to even hazard a guess about what features it might have, but it might be worth looking into (it's being made by the studio that used to make Project Gotham Racing).

EDIT: Oh, yes, and Need For Speed: Shift, but it's not free-roaming, and I heard it was full of bugs. :/ It does apparently have a lot of customization options (visually, anyhow).

I tried to play Need for Speed Shift but couldn't really get into it.

Yea...burnout paradise would be perfect if it had fully customizable vehicles...

Ummm...ModNation Racers will have TONS of customization options....not sure if it's the type of game you're want, but it looks insanely fun!

No new games that I'm aware of or on my radar.

I do highly recommend midnight club: los angeles and need for speed: carbon as they fit your criteria for a free roaming and customized car experience even though these games are not new releases. You can also include need for speed: undercover which is more casual difficulty.

These three titles fill my craving for the time being as I too share your type of racing interest in games.
