Default Region Chip my blu-ray player

Hey guys, If this topic is not aloud then i apologize and please go right ahead a delete it

Im thinking of getting my Panasonic SC-BT200 Home cinema kit fitted with a region free chip as i would like to know that i could buy any blu-ray movie without the fear of region coding

Iv came across the following site (please remove link also if not aloud): http://www.multiregionupgrades.co.uk/ Which offers the service for £180 which includes pick up, installation and return

I just basically wanted to get some peoples opinions, Has anyone used that site? If so is it reliable... What do you make of the whole region chipping in general, Worth the money or just a waste?

Thanks
Craig

Ok after googling about multiregionupgrades.co.uk i have found pretty much nothing but bad reviews so i will be avoiding them for sure

After some further googling i came across this site mrmdvd.com and they offer the exact same service (pick up, chip and return) for £150 so its £30 cheaper than the other site, I cant find any reviews about the site, Has anybody here used them? If so were they reliable etc...

Craig

I just bought a Sony S360 from a seller in the US on Ebay that is chipped to play A+B and multi-region dvd's. Currently have a region B & 2 player.

It cost me about £200 extra and is fully compatible with PAL, the seller had sold lots of chipped machines and had positive responses from buyers.

It is a lot of money from me to pay for just a hand full of blu-ray's that are region A locked but it'll also come in very handy with future locked titles.

Here is a review and some information about the region-free Momitsu:

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/hardwa...su_bdp-899.htm

The Sherwood at this link is a clone of the Momitsu:

Here is a site that sells modified Blu-ray players:

http://www.codefreedvd.com/dvd_blu-ray_dvdplayer.htm

I hear the Oppo can be modified relatively easy for $100 extra.

Thanks for the reply guys, so overall would you say having it region free is worthwhile?

It will be my current player that I am getting chipped (Panasonic SC-BT200)

So does anybody know if the mrmdvd.com is a safe and reliable site?

Thanks

I chipped my BD60 a couple of weeks ago, if its anything like the ones your thinking of, it was pretty hard... you need a real steady hand if it involves using a soldering gun.

Once its in and working, its fully worth it though

Hi Craig

I've purchased from them for years, bought my original Panny multi region Dvd from them years ago and also a couple of region free DVD players since.

Also bought my Panasonic BD55 from them fully multi regioned, the dvd side is region free and all you do for blu ray is turn player off and press 1 for region A or press 2 for region B, player will stay in what ever region you last selected until you change it

They offer a quick service, would recommend them as I've never had a problem, just wish they would crack the encode for the new Panny players
