Default Disney researching alleged framing issue with POTC 1 BD

I just called Disney's consumer relations at (800) 723-4763 and I spoke with somebody there about the framing issue of POTC Curse of the Black Pearl. She researched it and said that they are aware of the issue and are "researching it". Hopefully they will have an exchange program for these discs. I doubt Disney won't do anything since they stand behind Blu-Ray 100%.

Um, you think the POTC I with the weird framing will fetch as much as BOG on eBay? JK

Hmm, not sure that I want an exchange program, but good to know that Disney is researching it.

It's real, it's on every disc. It's only for about 10 minutes of the movie.

Then you haven't tested it to see because it's there.

People. Seriously. This is real. You people saying it's BS are acting like crazy people. You make me feel bad about myself as a Blu-ray person when I hear this fanboy denial shit. Enough. It's an error. Deal with it how you want, but denying it is ridiculous. Christ.

i did notice a couple scenes where something was cut off, most noticably during the swordfight in the shop near the beginning of the movie. i just dismissed it as an odd choice of camera angle/zoom until i heard about all this.

People make mistakes sometimes when mastering movies to a home format. There are both HD-DVD and BLU-RAY discs that have various issues on some titles. Hopefully Disney will re-master the movie.

LOL

98% of people did not even notice it, it did not bother them, and some guy flips crazy on this and its an "huge" issue

I've seen the movie, I personally never noticed it, transfer was perfect and I enjoyed it

Let me rephrase my previous post!!!! I stand corrected! Oops!

For some reason I was thinking POTC2. I haven't even opened POTC1. My bad, I can't comment on this, as I haven't watched the BD version of POTC1.

Who cussed at you exactly because I don't like being cussed out on these forums? Do you really empower other people to make you feel bad about yourself?

The framing issue is very much real. I have the discs and can verify the problem for myself (as can many other owners).

Is it a huge problem? Only if you're a purist I suppose. I'm not so worried about it that I'm going to double dip on it, but an exchange program would certainly be appreciated.
