Talking Sony Stepping up the Spidy 3 BD Marketing in UK

The other day there was a teaser on TV for Spidy 3, but was extememly disappointed to see Blu-Ray wasn't even mentioned, it just mentioned the date of the release!

But fear not, the next day they had a proper advert for the release on "DVD and High Definition Blu-Ray disc!" with that cool voice guy who voice overs everything.

Then today on my way to town, they had a banner on the side of some of the buses with Spiderman 3 release date and a big picture of the Blu-Ray version.

They didn't disappoint!

This is the sort of thing that will attract the newcomers.

I still remember how people were "wtf" about the old school

"coming to VHS and DVD". What is DVD?

The adds with blockbuster movies and "coming to Blu Ray" is the most valuable add a faction can have.

Has anything been confirmed in USA that Sony will include Spidey 3 with the S300 or the entire trilogy?? I'd like to turn some folks on to that if true.

Most likely it will be just SM 3 like with the PS3 that will be $399.

Seems like good timing with the PS3. While the new Tranformers is coming out before SM:3 in the US, looks like it is the opposite in the UK with SM:3 coming out October 15th and Transformers December 3rd. That should give Blu-ray some time to build up hardware sales before Transformers hits. And Harry Potter hits 3 weeks before Transformers, so that should be an interesting time.

Off topic, but a bit similar (IMO).... HMV UK (Hatfield) hides "300" BD, while showing HD DVD version. I asked the counter purposedly if they have it on BD. They went to the storage room, and took it out there. I left by putting the BD version on (above) the HD DVD version, so people will see it first.

You crazy man! I've switched off the power strips hooked up to HD-DVD demos at BestBuy. My son thought I was nuts and we had a good laugh over it. It's now one of my obessions every time I go in there just to see if I can get away with it...and how long it takes the associate to notice.

you called me crazy, while you yourself are much much more crazy than I.
Love what you do though. Next time I go to HMV, I might consider rearranging the rack by putting more BD over HD DVD regardless of titles...
That was between the same title. I did that today

Around my home city of Manchester, double decker buses, have big Spidey 3 posters on the side with DVD and Blu-ray disc shown. Will get piccy if I see one again soon.

You know, I've seen a few TV ads for 28 Weeks Later on DVD but Blu Ray isn't mentioned. You'd think Fox would be pushing Blu to the max now dammit!

Good news about Spidey in the UK though. Definite must buy for me.

Yeah have to say, noticed a couple or three double deckers with the spidy adverts on them. Lot of exposure going on for these titles and the Blu-ray part was pretty noticeable too.
