Default What your gaming system says about you.

At MSN Match, a crack group of armchair psychologists (plus one real one) use a dude's choice of gaming machine to reveal the inner reaches of their very soul to potential dates. We take it a step further, reading in between the lines they've already read between. Ladies, a Wii owner

is selfish about his passion, but he knows the Wii is acceptable because of its social interaction functionality. He is smart enough to find a way to continue to game and not scare his date away.
He's also "smart with his money," i.e. a cheap date, meaning you'll probably spend it in front of the white wonder. More nickel assessments this way.

A PS3 owner "may have deep pockets," "demand the best out of his experience—and probably his women" and "knows the right people, goes to the best restaurants and doesn't wait in line to get into the club." In other words, they're total pricks.

Finally, Xbox 360 owners

tend to like extremely violent, visceral games, as well as the social aspect of connecting with friends online. They may be living out an active and social life through games, because they are a bit on the shy side. Xbox 360 fans tend to make good money and like to spend it. These guys are passionate about gaming and that transfers into the bedroom as well.

WOah PS3 owner sums me up pretty closely. Can't say that I have deep pockets (I haven't worked in 3 months and won't be working again till January) but I demand the best, like to dress well, I know a few people, I like to eat out whenever possible (the more expensive the better) and I hate waiting to get into line in clubs. I wouldn't say that I am a prick, but I am commonly described as egotistical and arrogant

I must say that is almost accurate. I always demand the best out of me and my fiance. I love fine dining. I have a very expensive taste(Clothes, Cars, Wine) And I HATE lines for anything. I am not a prick but I "Am Sorta a Big Deal" (you be the judge)

it is right, except the deep pocket part. I am not deep-pocketed, but willing to pay more for the best experience. I chose BD over HD DVD because it is better (more capacity, and disney support). And I chose PS3 because that means I can use BDs and my PS2 games.

Oh and Tom's video game system said he was F-ing nuts too.

Actualy I think that couldn't be less acurate for me. I don't go to clubs, and am an introvert that would best be classified as being passionate about games, as well as liking violent games. I actualy have turned out empty pockets, mostly because I spend way too much on my computer and electronics in general.

Remember those old ads that claimed Super Nintendo owners were wimpy and hyperdefensive, that Sega Genesis owners had adrenaline/anger-management problems, and it was 3DO owners who were the epitomes of hipness?...

(...Nah, didn't think so.)

Default What would PC Gamers be?

I would be a Wii/PS3 hybrid

I wonder what PC Gamers would be? ...especially the crazy ones that spend $6000 building an SLI, 4GB, RAID ready PC with H2O cooling? (No offense meant, I like PC games too and built my own PC, although not a $6K one).

...maybe the Apple VS Microsoft commercials answer that?

Am I the only backwoods "hick" here? My "cars" (toys) consist of one very customized Jeep CJ-5 with 42" wheels, and a stock Jeep Rubicon. My wifie drives a basic Honda Civic I bought for her "used".

We don't go to ANY restaurants. We and the kids eat at home, with home cooked meals. My PS3 is hidden from the kids (they think it's the DVD player), and the PS3 Blu-ray remote that I bought has a peice of tape covering the "Play Station 3" word on it for that reason. The kids currently own a Nintendo Game Cube, and the original XBox, but are getting the XBox 360 and Nintendo WII for Christmas from Santa as they wanted.

Oh, and my house only has 3 full bathrooms and only 5 bedrooms, two of which are filled with junk that we've kept for like 100 million years. We'll never be rich most likely, but we enjoy our high defintion movies in 120" 1080p, and that's good enough for us.

Oops I forgot to mention that my PS3 is a gaming virgin. It's never played a game cause I'm more into occasional PC games. Perhaps this thread doesn't fit me then after rereading the title
