I believe that amazon.com is having a BOGO on hd dvd's that includes all of the Harry Potter movies.

Its unfortunate that the HP series was included in this sale for sure. I hope the BD camp do the same thing with the HP series.

There's a HD DVD BOGO at Best Buy as well. The #1 and #2 HD retailers. Don't think this won't affect the numbers. It could be their week.

I don't think so. The impact will be minimal, every week people are crying that the sky is falling and that the week will belong to HD-DVD... but it never happens.

Not sure about "minimal impact".... Never before HDM (hd-dvd in this case) took #1,2,3 and 4 ranks on Amazon...

amazon will always be minimal Impact.. since 2 month now, BluRay and HD DVD are pretty close to each other, around 53:47 ... this doesn,t reflect Videoscan at all because most HDM are bought in B&M store..

Porfie...don't look at these numbers they are not a true representation of the current state of the "Format War". I come to this forum every Friday to get the latest nielson numbers and those are the only figures that I look for because they're the only ones that matters.

I saw a Harry Potter movie on Sky Movies over Xmas... What a load of manure. This is one set of titles I will not be investing in. HD-DVD is welcome to it

Its just Amazon moving stale inventory, I wouldnt get excited. Some of these are combos so they are good in DVD players as well.

Ummm on a Limb here, but maybe the majority owners of blu-ray players like me had to actually go back to work today, and didn't have time to buy blu's on sale.

All in all, this thread allows us to talk about DUD and how they are doing. Obviously there is an issue on our hands...

Whether it be 1 retailer or 50 retailers, there is a HUGE sale going on and I, among others, think it needs to be addressed!

Maybe I am just pissing in the wind on this one but Amazon has pull in the media. Alot of people shop on amazon and it is good to see trends. Whether or not it is an Amazon trend or a nationwide trend, it is a trend none the less and should be discussed.

Banning seems a little harsh...

While I can understand your view, you have to understand that every week there are numerous posts "zomg hd outselling blu on Amazon" and we say "it does not matter, it is just amazon" and the numbers agree at the end of the week and yet the next week the same thing.
There is a huge bogo at Amazon including alot of good movies so the numbers will be skewed just like they are when hd gives away three or five movies.
At the end of the week it is a non issue and a horrible gauge
