Its unfortunate that the HP series was included in this sale for sure. I hope the BD camp do the same thing with the HP series.

Can I officially go out on a limb here and say "To Hell With Amazon.com!" Porfie...don't look at these numbers they are not a true representation of the current state of the "Format War". I come to this forum every Friday to get the latest nielson numbers and those are the only figures that I look for because they're the only ones that matters.

I saw a Harry Potter movie on Sky Movies over Xmas... What a load of manure. This is one set of titles I will not be investing in. HD-DVD is welcome to it .

Ummm on a Limb here, but maybe the majority owners of blu-ray players like me had to actually go back to work today, and didn't have time to buy blu's on sale.

From what I gather on local forums in Oz and the lack of red in Oz, most of the HD DVD owners in Oz purchase from Amazon. Many work collectively targetting a paraticluar title/s on a specific day. Even though they are a small group they do however make a great deal of noise. 500 purchases on one title would skew the figures for a day or two at Amazon.

So HD DVD is winning on Amazon for a day whilst being decimated in most stores in the US and in a few countries. In Oz the HD DVDer's are all over at Amazon and who knows how many people in other countries are doing the same thing?

I would not be at all surprised if they are having an all out go for the last week as over all sales are not working I guess a victory for a day on Amazon in their minds equates to HD DVD being the winner. Ignore them for long enough and they will go away.

thats a little harsh dont ya think?

All in all, this thread allows us to talk about DUD and how they are doing. Obviously there is an issue on our hands...

Whether it be 1 retailer or 50 retailers, there is a HUGE sale going on and I, among others, think it needs to be addressed!

Maybe I am just pissing in the wind on this one but Amazon has pull in the media. Alot of people shop on amazon and it is good to see trends. Whether or not it is an Amazon trend or a nationwide trend, it is a trend none the less and should be discussed.

Banning seems a little harsh...

Not to call you out but you talked about it here also:

I totally agree. What with the low dollar, DUDders purchasing from Amazon will definately skew the figures. Perhaps Amazon figures should be viewed as worldwide figures.

Porfie, do yourself a favor: stay away from the boards where red ants dwell and stay away from the HDD Amazon Charts and eproductwars. 1) The good deals skew the charts, 2) when the charts look up for HD-DVD, the red ants swarm and do their victory cries.

It's absolutely nothing to be worried about and only brings more FUD to our usually picturesque forum.

While I can understand your view, you have to understand that every week there are numerous posts "zomg hd outselling blu on Amazon" and we say "it does not matter, it is just amazon" and the numbers agree at the end of the week and yet the next week the same thing.
There is a huge bogo at Amazon including alot of good movies so the numbers will be skewed just like they are when hd gives away three or five movies.
At the end of the week it is a non issue and a horrible gauge

but how many bogos has HD DUD had?

Not many at all if you think about it! nothing compared to the Blu side. I am not trying to be negative. im not here to do so but you also need to understand that when they dont come around as often, they get snatched up quick! Especially with the Potter movies being $20 a piece then on a BOGO. this doesnt help our cause for Warner coming to the blu side.

This BOGO is big for them...

Honestly, it makes me want to go out and buy more titles!
