Unhappy Panny DVD player stopped reading Blu-Ray Discs!

We bought the Panasonic DMPBD-10, we love it - watching lots of fab discs. Suddenly, tonight, it stops reading a Blu-Ray disc after about an hour and says it's "unsupported". We take it out, try again, same thing. We try another Blu-Ray disc, same thing. Regular DVD's - it plays fine. Has this
happened to anyone else - and how do we fix it???? Stupid manual is no use.

A few months ago, another post reported something similar. They fixed the problem by going in and setting the adult password controls. Worth trying.

Hi,

We've just sent back our DMP BD10 (Region B version purchased in the Netherlands @ €1500) as it stopped reading discs.

It happened 30 min into the BD Movie "Tears of the Sun". It has played well for about a month, we bought the player Nov 30.

It didn't read any type of disc after that, making frantic noises seeking or trying to recognise a disc. My guess it's a mechanical fault in the drive mechanism or laser/lens.

Another few niggles compared to the Samsung BD-P1000 before it went wrong:
The DMP BD10 plays no menu sound effects on the digital outputs (HDMI/Coax/Optical).
Neither does it play the BDs we author when recorded on Fuji BD-R(E). Philips BD-R(E) don't record at all in our Pioneer BDR-101A.
We did upgrade the firmware from 1.0 to 1.2.
