Reno, NEVADA. "Battle Born"
Default Well, I found reason to not update my PS3

I live in Reno, and every day there is a 4.0+ earthquake for the past 5 days. sometimes two or three a day...

For those of you who dont know, the difference between a 4.2 and a 4.7 is that a few things fall of the walls and shelves, and a 4.2 you just feel...

Well, now the predict a 6+ for us (around the size of the 89 world series earthquake) or the earthquakes to stop...

GREAT... So what is BOUND to happen is that I start to update the OS on my PS3 and the power goes out and bricks my machine.

The only upside would be that my Apartment building would fall down, and the PS3 would not be in the top 15 of my worries

But seriously, this activity is scary.

i live in an area where if there is an earthquake you would end up saying something like what the hell was that? because they show up like 2 seconds and just go away

I guess you don't need the new dualshock controllere

I hope the quakes stopes. I'm living in a part of the world, where we don't have quakes or twisters ... just some rain. Can't imagin how a quark must feel.

Yep, do you have your lasso ready for the next one.

Safest place from a twister is the local six flags, it has unusual
terrain and twisters just dissipate and reappear on the other side.

Perhaps six flags has finally perfected shield technology... hmmm

Question

Hold up!

Let me get this straight. If I'm performing an update and the power goes out, my PS3 will be useless? As in, cease to function?

Didn't know those shakers were still going on; thinking and hoping for safety for all you guys. I know some folks in Reno, and that's scary.

Solution: PS3 suspended on bungy cords with battery back-up.

Pretty wild, we've been having some smaller quakes in the 4 range out here fairly consistently. Makes ya wonder!
