Default Square Enix going multi-platform?

Just an interesting move, this can either hurt the PS3 on exclusives, but multi-platform releases are not bad for gamers overall...

Sony holds alot of shares in square as far as I know. This may have changed with the Enix Merger. But that alone makes me believe the 360 wont see to many exclusived from square. They already released ffx1 and that did bad. Plus, the 360 is virtually non existant in Japan!!

Thats hillarious. I severly doubt square would touch the 360, especially with the disaster that Blue Dragon turned out to be (expectations were over 1 mil sold in japan, sold WELL under half of that), and FF11 is another disaster on the 360. The 360 is for shooters.

The entire Xbox platform has been DOA in Japan since day one. The 360 fares little better, Blue Dragon or not.

They probably are going to go Multi-platform, but not with what you think. They're probably going to start pumping out generic FPS in order to make enough money to bankroll the next uber Final Fantasy or Grandia tittle. Since FPS sell like hotcakes in North America, irregardless of how crappy or unoriginal it is, this would be a shrewd move on the part of SquEnix.

Multiplatform: There is one other Japanese name here that's all too obvious: Nintendo.

Final Fantasy Chronicles was a Square/Enix title for the GC and I think they've already put some stuff out for the DS, have they not?

I would certainly be looking for more DS and eventual Wii support from them.
