Anybody know if FX's "The Shield" will be released on blu-ray?

I dont think anything has shown up yet and it seems like tv shows arent the main focus for studios to put out at the present time

It wasn't shot in HD, except for a few episodes, AFAIK.

Why would it have to be shot in HD? There are older movies on blu-ray that arn't shot in HD isnt' there?

That is the difference between video and film. Video is limited to a resolution - in this case something around 525 lines - while film has no resolution. Any film master can generate a 1080p picture, while video is always limited to the resolution it was created in.
